General Motors announced on Thursday that it will be extending its 60-day satisfaction guarantee program. The 60-day program kicked off on September 13th as part of General Motors’ “May the best car win” ad campaign.
Originally set to end on November 30th, the program will now carry on until January 4th. “It’s been very successful, and the third phase of the advertising campaign will launch in magazines due on shelves in December,” Ryndee Carney, a GM spokeswoman, told Automotive News. “They feature head-to-head comparisons of our vehicles versus our competitors.”

GM marketing head Bob Lutz announced earlier this month that only one individual had returned a GM vehicle under the program, but either that statement was false or several people have changed their minds in the last few days. Of the 449 buyers that have opted into the program, four have returned vehicles. Another 49 customers have filed paper work to return their vehicles but have yet to do so.

Interestingly, GM says the four vehicles returned were a Chevrolet Equinox , Malibu, Tahoe and Silverado – not a Corvette as Lutz previously stated.
