Now unions want GM to put another car model in that truck plant. GM makes Chevy Impala, Pontiac Grand Prix and Buick Allure (Lacrosse for American market).

At one time I believe the unions were a great asset to the workers. However, over time they got greedy with salary and benefits, especially with the big three. And now its come to this. They can petition and negotiate all they want but they can’t stop the company from going under. Who do they want to continue making trucks for? To fill empty lots? Nobody’s buying them. Is it GM’s responsibility to keep these people employed indefinitely, even it means losing money? Eventually the bubble bursts. The party’s over.

I went through a 4 month strike once on the management side. It takes great restraint not to just floor it when one of the brothers blocks your way. The verbal abuse is one thing, you can tune it out, but the ones who figure you need an injunction just to go home can go f*ck themselves.
