I have a suggestion for GM's 5-10yr plan. Why don't they get rid of half of their brands...Reduce quantities supplied and stop trying to be #1 cause all you're doing with your current strategy is burning inventory at discounts. You got tons of inventory and start panicking like, "Oh crap I gotta get rid of all these cars!" I bet if they produced 35% of their current production, they would be in way better shape. Drop these brands: Pontiac, Saab, Hummer, Buick (US), Saturn, GMC. I would combine GMC, Saturn & Chevy into one and keep it Chevy. I'd also add Buick to Cadillac and keep it Cadillac. Make one economy, one mid-size, one full size car, a small cuv, and a large cuv & two pickups for Chevy. For Cadillac, keep the escalade (make it hybrid only), make a new mid-size entry car (low 30K starting price), & one full size sedan (start at $37k).

It'll take more than employee pricing to keep the bottom from falling out.

I hope the Camaro has rebate when it's introduced for sale.

So the Z28, or a version with the S/C 6.2L V8, is definitely a no-go for sale, right?
I'll hold out until they sell it, otherwise I just won't get a new Camaro.

A lot of GM cars are actually pretty sweet deals at the employee price. With the market meltdown, though, a lot pf people are not going to go in and buy just to have something fresh. Too much uncertainty out there for that.
