I'm pretty sure Rover is Chinese owned now and there aren't any Brits building any. You can spin anything tho - just depends on your view.

Heres the real deal on America at war as seen from Europe and just for a laugh.

WW1 - late, and not a decisive contribution.
WW2 - late, defeated Japan.(USSR defeated Germany)
(France and the UK on the other hand entered both wars before they were attacked themselves in defense of other countries)
Korea - Stalemate (not offically over even)
Vietnam - lost but hey killed 2M vietnamese
Grenada - Win. (those cuban bricklayers didn't stand a chance)
Iraq1 - turkey shoot
Afghanistan - too soon to tell
Iraq2 - at this point noone knows how to define "win" it is so screwed up

See? Americans think they are all conquering and Europeans think not.

To 1952 MG TD

Last time I checked the austrailian where part of the british coloney. Had it not been for the English there was probably no chance they would have went to war with you. The only people that actually went to war with you are spain who have pulled out and italy who wants to pull out. Apart from England (god knows why) everyone in europe is against the war. All other non europien countrys in the war were bullied by america into the war.

Secondly Rolls parts are all unique and designed and built by the british. Same with TVR, land rover (Apart from engine from Jaguar), most jaguar models, rover and Astom martin. At the end of the day they are still british because they were conceived in England.

IF NOT then that would make Chrysler German (Big benefit to Chrysler) and GM is on the verge of being french.

Clarkson doesn't actually bash all American cars - he just reviews everyday cars based on their suitability for use in the UK (generally none at all), or in the case of sports cars, against their peers. He includes the Z06 on his wishlist of dream cars, and owns a Ford GT.

The problem is that American and European cars have completely opposed handling characteristics by design, and so they just don't cross the pond well. It's not that American cars are all bad, just that many are bad for use in the UK and would cost too much to run based on our fuel prices and the way our road tax is calculated. That doesn't mean there aren't enthusiastic owners and fans here, but just that they're in the minority.

Stuart:
1) The Aussies know what is right and stick by us as well. We appreciate all the sacrifice from all those who have chosen to stand with us. Thank you.

2) The rolls you mention is a derrivative/owned by a german company. Bently is also owned by a german company. IIRC, Rover is also owned by a german company. Aston, Jag, and LR are all owned by an American company. TVR is owned by a Russian. MG is owned by the Chinese. What British marque is still owned by the Brittish?

I'm actually from the UK and I look at this car and think over the top. It just look weird and doesn't really interest most people who have seen this car. Every time the Challeneger seems to be the choice of people between the two cars.

There is no car like it here in Germany and that is for a reason...no interest. As for the UK, the way Jeremy Clarkson bashes all American cars I doubt it would see there either. Best chances are places where you can afford to feed a V8 and they appreciate such a crude car, like Australia.

well if it doesn't handle and has leaf spring suspention like the mustang, you can forget about europe. the usa's crap cars give them a worse reputation then their war in iraq. but if they make it too good, then it will be too expensive for americans, as a chevy. well, we shall see

While the Camaro is a sweet car I would say no to Europe, it just won't fit in. But in the land down under however, I would say it would do great.

it looks like a characature of a real car

I'm not so sure that's such a bad thing. Film characters are caricatures of real people, superheroes are caricatures of crime enforcers.. we sometimes need to have the key aspects of something made larger than llife so we can appreciate everything it stands for. I think the Camaro looks like the muscle car you'd draw when you were young, and I know that if I had one sitting on my driveway I'd never stop looking at it and thinking just how outrageous it was. It doesn't quite fit in the real world, and that's its strength.

Yeah this would be a great idea if the Camaro didn't look like garbage, yes that's right, I said it, it looks like shit. The design is borderline cartoonish, it looks like a characature of a real car. Pretty sad really. I also love how all the press is focused on the version that will be sold with a V8, when the majority of sales will be of the shitty, bottom of the barrel V6 version. Don't bring this to Europe. It'll be a disgrace.

Stuart you're just pissed because your countryman have squandered your entire automotive industry. That redneck Camaro not supposed to be refined like a M3/RS4, its American you retard...its supposed to be raw, powerful, ostentatious and that's ceritanly not for everyone...its not for me but at least we have an identity and an automotive industry. If you don't like it, fine we'll just start dropping bombs.

KEEP THIS PIECE OF SHIT AWAY. The Ford Mustang wasn't the best of cars but least Ford was decent enough to spare itself the humiliation of bringing it over because they knew it would be a flop.

Besides for £40K I would need a gun pointed at my head to even consider this POS. M3/CLK55/RS4 would outclass this banger every time

Nah - it's for the GI's. Hell, the Cold War was over forever ago, but we still have 130,000+ tittybar customers sprinkled around that may be attracted to this.

I'd heard that as it stands, the Camaro won't meet UK pedestrian safety requirements because of the construction of the front end. I'd rather not see it here at all than see that amazing face compromised to fit regulations.

The neo mullet or Moolay as it is now know is a hot designer haircut here in the UK. This thing will sell in tiny numbers to a hardcore of AMerican car fans. It wil be sold as a Chevrolet as Europeans know that the Camaro and COrvette are chevrolets.

I'd love to see them try to sell an unrefined, ponderous muscle car to the folks across the pond. Might as well try and sell them an H1 while they're at it. Do the any Brits have mullets?

I think that if the platform and material qualities are up to snuff that the bold styling would make it a good seller overseas.
