Great design concept! GM needs SAAB to be a leader in high-end design philosophy and engineering execution, rather than a brand name with some value being deteriorated by applications on Chevy Trailblazers (SAAB 9-7X).

How easy would it be to get out of that cockpit in an accident? Hmm. I’m not too sure I care. Who wouldn’t want a car that looks like a jet? It’d be cool if they SAAB designed a supercar with that same idea.

Being a current 9-5 owner, I am Saab biased. I think that this is a great design exercise, but I can’t help thinking that this is not a car I would want to be in an accident with. It is just that Saab has such a great history of safety innovation that it is hard for me to see them consider designs where there is no visible means of support for the roof.

Still, great study in design. Makes me think that it would have fit very well in Minority Report instead of those futuristic Lexus’.

Looks nice, but I have a hard time imagining how this design language will translate to more mainstream models. It is, in more dramatic form, the motif the revised 9-5 is already using up front, and that isn’t exactly a stunner…

The vehicle opens in a rather interesting fashion to let the driver in. A similar system, anyway, is already employed by the Maserati Birdcage, designed by Pininfarina.
I love the looks of that gauge. Very sci-fi.

I still say that it looks totaly awesome, not the most practical though… but concepts never are.
