rodeo,
you cumm faced idiot, when brakes get too hot, they don't pulse, they become mushy. You have to use considerable force and pedal travels all the way to the floor, before brakes starty to work. You haven't taking car to a race circut, for sure.

I don't understand how a product can be released to the public without meeting federal crash standards first. Don't the feds crash test new vehicles and have to sign off on them before they can be sold?

Stupid Federal standards - I'll bet for this to happen you have to be 6'7", 280lbs and have your finger up your nose...probably never happen for the normal person.

Well the good news GM sold that many of them. I thought copying Chrysler would not be that profitable.
BTW, I think it is bigger deal to repair then mechanical defect: how do you fix roof and frame? It's not like a shitty bolt or a bearing or capacitor.

I rented one of these for a week and drove it to BC last summer and it was alright. Wished I knew about this recall back then, with two 4 year olds in the back seats this news sounds eerie.

NOT a good way to start the year.

By the way, 1115, give me one newsworthy recall (as in a recall that other auto blogs reported that LLN didn't) or just any GM recall that LLN failed to report. Also, provide some evidence that LLN is being "payed off by GM". I'd love it to see - it would be fascinating; might even write a book about this whole GM-LLN conspiracy

Well, the good thing is that there weren't any mechanical-related recalls. This doesn't seem like that big of a deal to me. I've been in 2 rollovers in vehicles without curtain air bags and I didn't really get hurt.

I drove an HHR on a recent trip to Alta, UT and it was a piece of crap. The brakes could not handle the mountain roads and pulsed horribly while coming down. Climbing up the mountain with more than 2 passengers required practically flooring the thing.

I don't give a shit what anyone says, almost any type of plastic is hard. A solid piece of plastic is not going to keep you that safe, an airbag is. What is "energy-absorbing" plastic anyway? Hey one time when I was a kid I was going too fast down a hill on my longboard and I had to use a parked car to stop me so that I wouldn't die in traffic; the metal door on the car caved in upon my collision with it and broke several of my ribs. I guess that door can be considered as "energy-absorbing" metal =/

Well I guess Toyota doesn't cut LLN any checks because everyone one of their recalls has been reported even the ones that Toyota said wasn't a recall Because It was "warranty service extension"....

Back to this. I know they issued a recall last summer very similiar to this for the Cobalts. It had something to do with installing a safety feature in the driver side headline, so I'm assuming since they are both built off of the same platform that they are similiar. I wonder why this isn't being recalled until just now.

So a chincy chunk of plastic is going to keep the roof from caving in during a rollover?
