Your CommentHey TRIPLEONEFIVE

Man, you've got to stay up to date with the auto industry if you're going to make such broad claims. Five years ago I would have totally agreed with you.

Back the, HONDA and TOYOTA made excellent reliable cars and FORD's and CHEVY's were falling apart (excluding the domestic trucks and the mustang)

Let's take a trip to the current state of things. Honda is still probably your best bet for reliability but their cars are having more problems (civic mainly) and INTERIOR QUALITY has fallen horribly. they just don't feel as solidly built as they used to and you would be hard pressed to find a dealer selling under MSRP. You're paying for a name that doesn't mean what it used to.

THIS IS COMING FROM A 97 ACCORD DRIVER.

Toyota is going off the deep end just like GM did awhile ago. Apparently when a company gets large they start to slack off. Example current camry and corolla feel like crap. Buzzy engines, cheap feeling suspension, cheap interior quality hardley better than GM. And you still have to pay for the supposed Toyota reliability

Chevy is slightly better but still has another model cycle to go before they'll be really competitive again(there are some exceptions)

Ford is the place to put your money right now. FIESTA, 2011 FOCUS, F150, MUSTANG, 2010 FUSION
all these cars have a substantial feel to them like honda used to have. And you don't have to pay a premium... yet.

BUY A FORD (Just not older models like the explorer, focus, or sporttrack)

Caddy, I just have to say something about the tax money issue.

Yes, I know where it's going.

No, I do not like it.

Yes, the banks got more.

No, I did not like that, either.

Trouble is, this is a car blog, not a bank blog, so we cannot really make snide remarks about the government's dealings with the banks. Our outlet is, however unfortunate, the posts about GM and Chrysler. Compared to the banks, GM got peanuts. But they still got the peanuts, and many of us didn't want them to. I felt bankruptcy and restructuring was a better move, but our government did not feel that way. I don't approve of their spending, and I am entitled to write my opinion.

However, the best way to voice my opinion is to cast my vote. Coming next election, my voice will be shouted. Whether or not it will be heard over everyone else's voice, I don't know, but I sure hope I can have some effect - especially since I live in Nevada (bye bye, Reid).

I respect GM, and I respect their workers. If GM were to fold now, I understand there would be many people without jobs. However, I feel that life doesn't end there, and the skilled workers (like 400Horses) would easily be able to find a job somewhere else. There will be change, there will be adjustments, but it can be dealt with. The fact that our government is forcing us to deal with something we are technically not involved in is not right. I don't want to pay for the banks. I don't want to pay for GM. I'm upset at both problems. That doesn't mean I hate GM, though. I'm just not happy with our government officials.

Back on topic:

I've yet to see this Camaro in person, but I'd give it a shot. It's starting to grow on me. Personally, I think I'd prefer the Challenger out of all three brutes, but the Camaro is still looking pretty good. It sucks that the battery cable wasn't installed correctly, especially with GM's current situation, but still, it's only a battery cable. At least it isn't the front-end shocks or controller arms. If my car stops while I'm driving (which I've had before), I can roll it to the side of the road. If my front wheel falls off while driving...

llt21:
"Your a F*********ing idiot".
What's with the name calling did I say something to make you mad?

"Would everyone here agree we need bullets and missiles to protect our counrty. CADDY-V doesn’t think we should spend the taxpayers money on these things".
There is NO where in what I said that staits we don't need bullets or missles. You are just twisting my words. Do you work for the media? I said the money the government spends on those things is nothing to the money GM got. Read the post right before you say something.

" GM begged from the Government wasn’t “Sh*t”, then why would they go “BEG” for this money".
So you must have been in the room or on the phone when GM was talking to the government to know that they begged for the money? Whatching a little to much fox news are we?

" Why do we need GM".
I think the's a question? we don't NEED GM or any other car maker for that reason, but I guess people or to lazy to walk everywhere.

"They can’t even make acceptable vehicles".
That would explain why they were the #1 car company in the WORLD for 77 years in a row.

This recall for a battery cable happen to be the same reason, my 1971 camaro was recalled. Chevrolet placed a negative battery cable over the alternator fanbelt which caused it to rub against the cable while going down the road. After 6000 miles it wore a worn in the cable insulation

psiclone
Its not my fault that you either didn't have parents and grew up in an orphanage or had parents who bought unreliable cars like the ones that D3 makes. Personal insults will get you nowhere my troubled friend and I'm glad that I mean so much to you that you remember me from a year ago and that you are so mad that you had to take a stand against my postings
Unfortunately nothing has changed with GM. They are still unreliable and Toyota and Honda are the more reliable and have better quality reflected in their high resale value

Great mention of FaceSpace and myBook. I'm impressed you even know what those sites are. I don't care what you look like but you can assume all you want about my looks. Please entertain me with your guessing ,crying and sobbing in your postings. I'm sure yourself A4 SJ and Caddy V are meeting for a GM support group this weekend, make sure you record it and post it on FaceSpace or MyBook
HA GM SUCKS !

Mikerad:
And I just have to add this too… sorry bare with me…. I was visiting a Chevrolet Dealership a few days ago and I saw this "NEW" car I have never seen before. The salesman said it was a CAMARO. I said i thought they stopping making those. He said yeah in 2002 but GM is making one again 8 years later. I asked him if I could test drive it and he said yes. We went to take it for a spin but when we got in it, and it would not start. They look at it and said it was a "Faulty Battery Cable". We went to another one and same thing happen. So I just left cause nothing else was remotely appealling. When I got home,I saw on TV that GM is recalling these cars back. Good thing I didn't go far because it probably wouldn't of made it 40 miles.

Thanks GM keep it up.

CADDY-V
You say the 13.4 Billion (November 2008) and 2 Billion (few days ago) that GM begged from the Government wasn't "Sh*t", then why would they go "BEG" for this money. If GM had not received the taxpayer's money they wouldn't have made it out of 2008. Your a F*********ing idiot.

Would everyone here agree we need bullets and missiles to protect our counrty. CADDY-V doesn't think we should spend the taxpayers money on these things. Why do we need GM. They can't even make acceptable vehicles. This is the company that wasted 4+ years to build a car, just to recall it less then a week after going into production. I now know where my tax money is going. GM is going to use it to repair these recalls.

Once again Thanks GM keep it up.

And I just have to add this too... sorry bare with me.... I was visiting a Roush plant in Warren, MI a few years back and noticed the parking lot was full of brand new Ford F-150's. I politely asked what was up with all these Ford trucks...were they going to put stageX kits on all these? supe them up, do something really cool? The answer was...... during the assembly, on the line they had noticed a bolt (not too sure what or where) didn't work right or fit right or something. BUT instead of stopping the line, they just let the whole production run it's course.... Wrong. why? who the F knows. the answer I got was it cost to much to stop the line. So, they let them run, then shipped all of them to Roush to fix. Now I have no idea what the cost to fix the bolt was, but I was told just to store the trucks, was a dollar or two per truck, per day.... Now I don't know about you, but that seems pretty smart...NOT. But all the car companies do crazy, stupid things. It's amazing they have stay in business this long. AND just as a disclaimer... I was born and raised in Detroit, have owned all types of cars, from many different companies and I have found this to be true.... they all suck. I had a bad nissan, i had a great nissan, I had a great Monte Carlo, I had a terrible Buick, I had a great Honda, and a terrible Mitsubishi. I had a great BMW, now my BMW sucks. It's all of them. I guess we just hav eto get lucky. BUT please, before you start spouting off about how good your car or truck is, do a little research.... chances are you might have a good one, but your neighbor's is falling apart. Look it up.

OK.... so GM has a re-call for the Camaro... SO WHAT.... if any of you know anything, nearly every car made has some sort of recall. YES the Challenger has some recalls, and so does the mustang and corvette, and GT. and you you "BUZZGT" you said 4 years and your Mustang hasn't had a recall... if you're driving a 2005 your car has had 3. (lol) So don't knock GM for this problem, should we like it? NO. Is it in-excusable...hell yes. But it is what it is.... What most people don't know about the car companies, is that when there is a problem, 9 times out of 10, they will let the problem get out into the world before they decide to fix it... allot of times, the all the cars won't show the problems, just some. So until they get to a magic number, they will just fix the cars as they come in and keep quiet about it. An example... the Ford GT. That recall was kept so quiet no one heard about it... But every single one had to be recalled due to the suspension disinegrating at high speeds. I only knew about it cause a friend worked for the company that fixed them (not Ford). So all in all, don't knock GM on this. It happens to ALL OF THEM. It's funny how the media just has to get this out there tho????

111.5, you are such a joke. How old are you? A statement like "GM has and always will be a JOKE" betrays your youth or sheer prejudice. I remember when you used to post brags about your mommy's accord. You are nothing but an immature and blind loyalist to what wuvy-dovey-mumy drove when you was an iddy-biddy boy. I stopped replying to you about a year ago because you lack a shred of objectivity. I used to think that you were a 'plant' to get people to defend domestics. I was wrong. You are probably nothing more than a pimple-faced, 5-foot tall, 250 pound insult target. Go on, continue to blinldly promote mumsies transportation brand of choice all the while looking so f-ing stupid to most of the rest of us. Now go back to your facebook or myspace or whatever it is you teen-ies do these days to come across as someone you're not.

CADDY-V, you're an arrogant fool. If the US government (we the people) have a percentage in GM, it's our money they're throwing around.

Toyota has trucks with disintegrating frames and won't fess up, leaving owners with nearly worthless vehicles = EXCUSABLE

Chevy sells 614 Camaros (http://www.leftlanenews.com/gm-boosts-chevy-camaro-production.html) with defective battery cables and voluntarily offers to fix it = INEXCUSABLE

Would any of you drive-by commenters like to explain the discrepancy?

llt21:
This is for you and evey other person that complains about there "tax" money.
The taxs mony that GM got is not sh*t. It;s no where close to the money the banks got and it's no where close to the money our government pays for wars in other countries. Not even the money GM go could even pay for the bullet our government buys our even missles for that matter. Just be happy you atleast know where you tax money is going. Every other time they would just use our money for things we don't even know about. So next time you our some other person wants to talk about there "tax" money, think about the fact that the money you pay in taxes wouldn't even pay for the paperclips that GM uses in a year. So stop the complaining and welcome to America.

ml350pc you are right EVERY COMPANY does have recalls from time to time but GM has a recall for car that has only been sold for FEW DAYS. how big did they F*** up to recall something after a FEW DAYS most companies take years before doing a recall. GM has been testing this car since 2005 and they still can't get it right.

how many recalls am i going to have to pay for this car when GM finally goes under and " ME " the taxpayer has to pay for all the recalls this car is going to have.

Thanks GM keep it up.

Sure no car company likes to recall vehicles but EVERY COMPANY has them. Shall I remind the everything foreign is great crowd that Toyota as of late has been the recall leader. It appears that in the case of the Camaro, this recall is for something that could be a problem over time, unlike the transmissions blowing up in the Nissan GTR (no this can't be it is a Japaneese Car). if the launch control was used. Even more laughable is if the launch controlin the case of the Nissan GTR was used the warranty is voided. At least Chevy is going to offer the Vette with the Launch Control, and yes folks, Chevy will warranty the vehiicle when one of the features included in the car is used. Off to test drive a Camaro this weekend!!! Can't Wait!!! I

Hahahahaha there have been literally millions of other cars made with a battery, not exactly cutting edge tech, and GM still managed to fvck it up. Makes me REALLY glad I don't pay taxes.

Hey 1115, at least CADDY-V shows up and talks on the GM recall posts, when you somehow end up being absent from all the Toyota (and other asians) recall posts. Fag.

And people wonder why i sell Hyundai in a GM town. Lets see how chevy can shoot them selves in the foot one more time! Oh bye the way the Genesis coupe is the way to go!

The above statement made me laugh since it was only 6 months ago that I had to trailer my sister-in-laws malfunctioning Santa Fe back to a Hyundai dealership with a Chevy Duramax. After multiple trips back to the dealership they finally just got rid of the pos and have no intention of buying another Hyundai any time soon.

Yes, its a new model and all, so I understand allowing time for working out kinks. However, lets say you waited 2 YEARS and finally get to buy a brand spanking new Camaro SS, and you know you are riding the hottest thing on the streets. All of a sudden, your car stops while driving, and you are stuck towing your brand new ride to the dealership. Thats not a good look. And, would GM reimburse you for the towing?

I'm no domestic fan, but this seems to be a small problem. Does GM even manufacture that particular cable, or is it purchased by a company that produces such things?

Either way, at least they're taking care of it somehow.

Just chill.
