When GM tested the product in 2002 and 2003, the product worked great and met any and all of their stringent testing standards. However, in December 2003, Microheat changed hands and the new management now had $100 million to make a product.
Short circuit in a product could easily be avoided. This is a wake up call for Microheat’s investors to check what has happened to their $100 million and once-promising company.
GM made a smart decision in supporting and endorsing a product that would not only remove ice but provide drivers with a clearer windshield under all driving conditions. GM has worked with Microheat since 1997.

Kaizen- I’m a little confused… if issues with the supplier, parts failing and design issues aren’t problems with manufacturing the vehicle, then what is?

If you mean the structure itself… well, atleast one half of the car isn’t longer than the other half

No, he’s not. He was being VERY funny. Someone said, “Nobody had better say GM has better reliability than Toyota,” and then Bob said “GM has better reliability than Toyota. There I said it.” It was a funny I-did-it-now-what-are-you-going-to-do comment. He was just being a jerk and giving everyone with a sense of humor a good laugh.

By the way, I’m disgruntled because the discontinued 8-track tapes.

idiots…….. every manufacturer issues recalls….. constantly.

this is MINOR… a bullsh|t part that might get hot and smell.

HONDA ball joints fail commonly…. and fail in style! THATS a real safety issue… and HONDA never issued a recall for that, or even fixed the problem on replacement parts/new vehicles!

Wow, I didn’t even know washer fluid was heated. But then, where I live, it never would be. And I loved the line that said, “the remedy is fairly simple and only involves the replacement of a wiring harness.” Simple in an American car. Last time I did that in a Japanese car, it was a royal pain in the @$$! I hope to never have to do that again.

For the most part, Toyota recalls stem from issues with the supplier. Transmissions, cam shafts. Or it’s a design or policy issue. Floormats, oil gel. It is rare that Toyota has an issue with manufacturing the vehicle, but they do happen. Likewise for GM.

too bad its a dying market and dont try and say that GM has better reliability than Toyota. If the Tundra was built outside the US and not by some lazy fat college drop-outs it would be a far better vehicle.
I aint a toyota fan (i hate their vehicles)
but it has earned it reputation for reliability, something GM continues to prove it hasn’t
