The Aura is ALREADY available with the hybrid system that’s in the Chevy Malibu.

In fact, the Aura was the FIRST passenger car to carry that system.

Wasn’t Insignia the name of a really good-looking concept that GM put out about 5 years ago which was supposed to inspire a new Opel / Vauxhall flagship? Now its become a lame rebrand of the terminally dull Vectra.

I speak and write English well enough.
Italian is spoken (less each generation) on my father’s side.
My wife is German.
I live in and grew up in southern california (though I forgot a lot of spanish living in the Midwest and abroad.

oh, and I took french in high school, but remember just about none of it

I’m only really fluent in English.

deantj that’s funnier in german, too. I think everything is funnier in german.
Except “Hail Victory” or stuff like that.

Its going to take it 4 years to make it to the us…..wow. Im getting to where i hate waiting for sweet cars from gm such as the new camaro, zr1 corvette, and the new aura. How much longer can GM take. I’m gettin bored already. Their going to take too long and the hype is gonna where off.

…. why mess with an established name? Does it have a bad connotation in Europe? I don’t recall anyone in Germany bad-mouthing the Vectra’s too much, so what is the point?

As much as I like the current Aura, this small photo has me anxiously awaiting the arrival of the next generation. I don’t care if it’s called Vectra, Aura, Insignia, etc., if the rest of the vehicle is as interesting as this shot suggests, GM appears to have another winner waiting in the wings.
