General Motors today released a single photo depicting the 2011 Chevrolet Volt‘s revised interior. The image is identical to an older shot of the plug-in hybrid’s interior, with some fairly noticeable changes. If this looks like the product of Photoshop trickery, that’s because it is — sort of. What you see here was probably a product of CGI to begin with, and the new image is merely an updated preview of what GM plans to send down the assembly line in late 2010.

While the original center console had a somewhat circa-1998 iMac look, the updated stack is a little more mature and businesslike. Both the main display and the LCD gauge cluster have matching black “hoods,” and the console buttons are now more clearly defined. The dials are also a bit less minimalist and a bit more organic.

Other tweaks include reshaped cup-holders, more conventional air vents, and a subtly revised steering wheel. The armrests also feature less white/silver plastic and more leather(ette).

It’s interesting to watch the design process for such an important vehicle unfold, and we’re sure this isn’t the last revision. But with the clock to production ticking down, we suspect this is very close to what consumers will buy.
