When it comes to the V6, its marketing not MPG. The LS2 can get upto 30MPG! So the V6 would, in reality, be worse economically. Most Mustangs are driven by women, and most women are not going to care about a V8. They care about how it looks, and its price, Mustang has already proved this! So as you now understand the V6 is just a volume pusher, and it will be made.

I currently own a Z03 Hertage Edition Camaro, and I am very happy with my car! So I am a fan and I want this CAR! This thing is going to roll out right around when I get out of college... PERFECT!!!! :D

There are 6 things wrong with this car that I can see so far. They're on the front, back, and wheels. Why is Chevy putting it's badge EVERYWHERE on this car? The old Camaros never had the Chevy badge. Where is the red, white, and blue stripes? That and I think a billeted grill would look better, or at least more than one horizontal bar. Other than that this car is looking great (even if they did rip off the 05 Mustang concept: http://www.leftlanenews.com/2006/02/28/the-2009-ford-mustang-not-quite/ ). I hated GM for getting rid of the one nice car they had left so to hear it's back is good news.

From the looks of the Cadillac Escalade and Saturn Outlook, GM has awaken and is once again capable of taking good ideas to production.

Go BMW commercial!

It is good looking and I think it would sell well...now. Instead it will show up in two or three years as a seriously watered down version (in the styling dept) when the trend has already moved on to something else. Plus by the time it does come we will be so sick of looking and hearing about the concept that no one will care.

gas doesn't cost $1.50 anymore. V6 is good.
This car will be so much better than the full-retro Mustang.
I bet laser rifles and homing missiles will be options on the Camaro. James Bond will drive it in the next movie.

Well, I guess we'll never see the Camaro then. As the market already suggests, there are probably only 160k available buyers for this car as evidenced by the sole model in the segment selling that many. Doubt they'd get 75% of that pie. (There MAY be some of the Import tuners that would buy, but evne assuming a 200k pie...no way they get 50% of it)

Additionally, the car will likely have to be priced north of 25k for a base V6. One reason is that it will have to be more expensive than the top Cavalier (22k) and possible Kappa based Sting Ray which would likely be in the low 20's as well. Then, they'll have the new Impala, which will be essentially the same platform & powertrains, but with 4 doors and a similar price...I can go on, but you get the idea. As much as I like the car, no way they'll get 100k buyers. 50k maybe, and that ought to be enough. They should make the Impala, a Buick 4dr version, and a Pontiac version on the same assembly line anyway, so I don't see that the Camaro has to sell 100k units to make it feasable.

Then it will be like the G6; the good ones will come a year later, by then it will become another 'Donna the waitress' car, stripped out with tin wheels, V6 and cheezy cloth. The tuners will have it before Lutz makes a Z28, stealing the factory's shine and it's game over: $3K discountsa and 0% x 60mos.

The Poncho G6 is a perfectly decent car but the Halo car is coming too late to save the impression it's nothing but another rental car from GM.
