GM to build hybrid Cadillac Escalade

02/01/2006, 2:22 PM

By admin

General Motors CEO Rick Wagoner told reporters at the company’s Baltimore transmission plant that his company plans to have a hybrid version of the 2007 Cadillac Escalade ready for the 2008 model year. Automotive News says the truck could get a 25 percent gain in fuel economy, meaning the vehicle could get close to 30 mpg on the highway. GM also said it plans to use the Baltimore plant to build its recently-announced Chevrolet Tahoe and GMC Yukon hybrid drivetrains.

Hybrids not only improve gas mileage, they reduce emissions. It is imparative that companies continue to bring this and other alternative technologies to market. Not all people will move into smaller cars with smaller engines. Thus we must encourage and support these hybrids options for our large vehicles. Keep up the good work GM.

That new escalade is freakin ugly. But you watch, every rapper/basketball player will get one, just because everybody else has one. Why does everybody buy GM? Oh, I can answer that, because people buy ‘em cuz everybody else does, cuz everybody is boring and has know taste and just does what everybody else does, buy GM ****, why do people want to blend in and be boring when they could stand out and be DIFFERANT! MAN I HATE GM!!!!!!!!

wow, what’s up GM haterrrss…i think all american made cars are pretty much crap…but i have one all the same. I have a 2006 Cadillac Escalade ESV platinum in white diamond and I LOVE it! It cost a pretty penny, and THATS why rappers and AllStars buy them. Status Symbol. Not because everyone else buys them, because it is in the top 3 most expensive SUV’s in the World list. Rich people buy them because they CAN!
So yeah, everyone has their views.

People who want “status symbol” and buy an Escalade are “stupid symbols”. 8 out of 10 new GM pickups and SUV’s have a daytime running light out. I honestly think someone on the assembly line is not plugging it in!!!! It took a decade for GM to figure out how to glue headliners, I wonder how long it will take to figure the running light problem. they’ll be out of business by then!!!
