A mercedes will last 2 million miles with a lot of expensive maintenance. Only a fool would buy a used mercedes with no records.

Unless everyone here is 7 years old and never bought a new 2000 Malibu I can tell you it is a pile of junk.

My friend had to finally unload his Malibu after many parts kept breaking, parts you DON'T expect to break from normal use. Great looking car, but only skin deep.

Plus this was GM 2000, not GM 1978.

getreal: You're nuts.

iw as wondering where GM sales was -- now, where's burmaneski. He was said to have died, then he said he was back from ukraine, then he vanished again.

jJay: yeah, a 500K Chevy C/K isn't as durable as a 2M benz, but far better than my 91K civic.

No, but in all seriousness, Get Real, GM is making many good cars that will last. Maybe not as long as a 2 million mile Mercedes, but longer than a Toyota Camry or Honda Civic.

What automaker made good cars that looked good, performed well and lasted in the 80's? Honda and Toyota were on the frontline, but regardless they were still pretty disgusting cars then looking back now.

the elimination of OVERTIME I would say is not the end of the world. the elimination of SHIFTS would be awful news.

Seems like a prudent move to manage inventories and minimize incentives..... Their incentives are lower than the tundra for example.

Eh, not looking too good.

I'm usually a Ford guy, and I love my F-150, but the new Chevrolet Silverado is a great vehicle- extremely smooth, comfortable, quiet and well mannered. The Toyota Tundra is hands down, full of it. Great in concept, but it's too bad the truch doesn't have the rigidy, the interior qualities, or engineering of the F-150 and Silverado.
