Ford announced Tuesday that it will produce hybrid variants of its iconic Mustang pony car and best-selling F150 pickup. Both vehicles will be part of a multi-pronged, $4.5-billion electrification strategy that will roll out over the next seven years.

Trump threatens 'Mexican made' Chevy Cruze with 'big border tax'

President-Elect Donald Trump threatened General Motors with a "big border tax" on its Chevrolet Cruze (a model which is predominantly built in Lordstown, Ohio), calling it "Mexican made." Hyundai announces Google Assistant integration at CES

Hyundai is rolling out a new Google Assistant function for its Blue Link telecommunications system at the 2017 Consumer Electronics Show. The system uses the Google Home voice-activated speaker to beam commands to an owner's vehicle.

Nissan developing first-ever plug-in hybrid

Nissan is looking into launching its first-ever plug-in hybrid model, according to Auto Express. The car will be aimed largely at the European market, and it will likely use technology borrowed from Mitsubishi.

Volvo announces autonomous driving software

Volvo has teamed up with components manufacturer Autoliv to develop autonomous driving software. Named Zenuity, the joint venture's first products will hit the market in 2019.
