I believe Chrysler offers a performance display on some of its SRT cars, but not color like the GM thing.

You can also get a Dashhawk & it’ll do pretty much the same thing. Same thing as global_lightning suggested.

The fact that GM is actually offering something like this on a sub 20k sport compact car like the Cobalt SS is almost hard to believe.

& for all the haters show me an option where any other auto company is offering something like this on their products around the same price. You won’t.

With the level of technology that the Cobalt SS has with its direct Injected, VVT, twin-scrolled turbo, BOSCH tuned 2.0L 4cyl, No lift shift feature, & competition/launch mode, you won’t find any of that in another car at the Cobalt’s price.

It’s just too bad it’s in a Cobalt right?

The Cobalt SS is quite a little sleeper… especially once you pull the park bench wing off the back.

You can get the same info from any car from a Scan Guage II for $160. It plugs into the ODBII port and gives you everything from fuel economy to coolant temperature. Others have developed acceleration testing programs for the iPhone and the Wii. At least GM’s trying.

I’m going to have to drive a Cobalt SS one of these days. My ‘95 dohc Neon is still a blast, but with the LNF, launch control, its Nurburgring record, and now this, the Cobalt has almost become the reigning candidate for ultimate sleeper.

Does it say how long you have until the car is going to need service? I though every GM car has like a preset number of miles it is supposed to break down at.

This thing is pretty cool. The unit itself is ugly looking but it has so many useful features. Like shift lights, Competition/Launch mode, TCS selections, different gauge appearance & colors, boost, lateral G’s, A/F ratio, spark advance, outside temp, batt voltage, and alot more. All for a $295 factory option.

Yeah as of now only offered on the HHR SS & Cobalt SS but would be cool if it found its way into the Solstice GXP & Sky RL…

It’s about time this became public knowledge. GM Performance and GM Tuner Source have been touting the usefulness of this display for some time. So far I know it works on the LNF engine… so anything with the LNF should be able to use this little toy.
