This is a sick car no matter how you look at it. The concept backend is a little too much (cadillac shaped exhaust..) but theyll lose that for production. This will be a perfect competitor for the G37. It will definately get a younger draw, even more than now with the sedan.

Im thinking LP640 and V2 are the same poster. He seems like the type to give himself pats on the back for being full of hate. And for the record, I know everyone in here would appreciate it if YOU STFU. Your posts are ignorant and non important. Keep gazing deeply into the Beastiality fetish porn we all know you love so much.

Americans will have to wait for another European WW to "steal" the next current German and Italian scientists to update their car range......

CTS is a great car for Robocop fans, we now can have our S.U.X 6000- The American Dream.

"Z06 you silly girl"

That's MR. Z06 to you, planet_freak. You're weak and pathetic, and you don't have anywhere near the intelligence to win a debate with me. Hence the low ball childish insults from you. I can see right through you.

"the CTS 6speed auto is a very unreliable and very expensive to repair unit."

The previous CTS has a 5-speed auto, not a 6-speed. The new CTS with a 6-speed has been on the market for what, 4 months? Hardly enough time to determine its reliability, but I haven't heard of any problems with it, and all the reviews of this transmission have rated it excellent. Let's see some links to documented problems with this transmission. FACTS please.

" Failed power steering selenoids, Ice forming on AC lines causing water to leak inside, rear diff problems on the CTS-V, faulty crank sensors, CV joints failing, faulty guages (oil temp and fuel)"

Isolated problems not endemic to the entire CTS model. EVERY car has at least some problems or design flaws that show up. Name the car, I don't care how reliable its reputation, and I will show you problems with it. Accord? known for crappy automatic transmissions. Camry? known for sludging engines, exhaust leaks, oil leaks, etc. My boss' Lexus SC430 had its engine blow up at 25k miles, and it has left him stranded three times in the last 4 years.

Look, the CTS would not have ranked high in JD Powers quality studies if the problems you listed were commonplace.

" There are better coups currently on market for about the same price. "
AGAIN, what same price?????!? Nobody has released the price of the CTS coupe!!!

"The G37, BMW 335i, Mercedes SLK, and the new Audi TT."

First off, only the G37 and BMW 335 among your list are competitors in the luxury coupe segment. The SLK and Audi TT are roadsters, not coupes. If you don't know the difference, I feel sorry for you.

I owned an Infiniti G35 Coupe, and while it was a nice looking, fun to drive car, with lots of luxury features, it was far from reliable. In fact, it was the least reliable car I've ever owned. In only two years of ownership and 27k miles, it had a defective manual transmission that was replaced, 2 defective clutches, NAV system failure, moonroof popping, clunking brakes when backing up, and it was constantly in the shop for rattles (in fact it rattled the day I drove it off the lot brand new). The only thing I didn't have a problem with was the engine. I'm willing to bet Cadillac can build a car with higher quality than my Infiniti.

I speak from experience. What do you speak from?

'Veda', giving many attributes may provide some level of redemption, despite all of them being negative.

'rockstars', forgive me ... I should NOT have included you ... I thought I had read something in another thread that led me to that conclusion. For now, you're free. By the way, it's "idiocy", not "idiocracy".

Beautiful Car! Build It! It's great to see Cadillac expand the CTS lineup! A coupe is the perfect addition to complement the gorgeous sedan.

planet_drive: Time to call out your B.S.

"Especially when considering there are much nicer and better quality coupes out there for the same price. "

Name one. Same price? Nobody has announced the price of this car, and it probably won't be known for over a year from now, so how can you say same price. Quit pulling crap out of your arse. Quality? The car hasn't even been built yet, and you're saying the quality is worse than other coupes? Again, you speak from your arse.

"Also all the mechanical issues the CTS is already known for will only hurt the cars image and reputation."

WHAT major mechanical issues? The CTS consistently ranks high in all major quality studies, and the plant it is built in is also ranked among the top 3 highest quality plants in North America.

If you're not going to post facts, then STFU.

Some of you people are less than useless.

BMW and Mercedes have quality issues also. Problem with Cadillac is their status image was squandered during the 80's and 90's.

High Status is difficult to gain, Infinity and Acura are trying mightly to achieve that upper-crust status. Cadillac may or may recover that status it once had.

LP640 is right though, its like they just went and welded the door spacing shut the slapped on a Volton kit.
The centre of gravity looks incorrect and I bet this car wold handle the same as a chevy nova.

Americans really need a new car company with a fresh view.
I cant possible imagine why u would buy this when you could buy a 335 or any other Axis car.

Americans really need a new car company with a fresh view.
I cant possible imagine why u would buy this when you could buy a 335 or any other Axis car.

My mother is quite proud of me, thank you. Her son didn't grow up to be a bigot. Unfortunately, it doesn't sound like the same can be said of yours.

This is a stunning vehicle and makes so many other competitors look dated at a stroke. Like the sedan, it looks much better in the metal too. Very stylish and modern and a welcome additon to Cadillacs range.

Looks like a Celica is right. If I were an aftermarket parts manufacturer, I'd start making a Body Kit and front end for the Celica so owners could make their cars look nearly identical to this CTS Coupe. This coupe is such a disappointment. Cadillac could have easily had the best-looking coupe in its class, but it came up short-literally-it needs a traditional-shaped trunk design. It will definitely cost them more sales than not.

Nice looking car but . . . I sorta looks a little too much last generation Celica from the side. At least for a Cadillac.Hopefully it can bring down those average customer age demographics a little.

El Aleman, it's probably going to be cheaper than the germans which is its strong point. Plus the 300+ HP V6 is enough just for any occasion.

Impulsive, come on man... are we gonna start arguing about style?

I have never been a fan of the CTS. This doesn't look to bad though. I hope at some point they improve the ride. I feel that alot of it's competition have a nicer ride. I've driven the 04',05',06', and 07. DIdn't care for any of them. But I haven't given up yet.

The CTS sedan makes every one of its competitors look second rate ... FACT. And this coupe will do the same.

I am more than 50% sure this is my next ride.

CTS?? It was easy, all the mechanical bits were already developed, so no test mules required for cooling, NVH, etc. Just needed to create the new body. It is cool and I can't wait to get one!!! Without the two tone interior though...
