I have had many a mechanic come out just to see who owns the vehicle and thank me for having an engine bay that looks showroom new to work on and under. The latest to sell is our third daily driver for when company is around and that is our CTS. It will be replaced most likely with a Mercedes C class as the size is what drew us to the CTS (neither of us actually prefer a four-door, but need one occasionally), and what is currently drawing us to the Mercedes. No sentimentality involved as we looked at the new CTS (I'm not convinced, but the wife would have moved had they taken in our CTS that looks like new, the Mercedes dealer is not remotely interested in it as a trade). There is a high-end used car lot on the way to our residence that I stop by to chat with the owner occasionally. All the vehicles are high-mileage, and he makes no qualms about it. All are high-end imports; he has no problem moving them. About two months ago he placed a black Cadillac XLR on the lot, but he told me he would not do it again—it is still sitting there, and it actually has low miles on it.
