Chris2, well put. I guess that’s the price we pay for the instant gratification of finding out new info on the internet. A bunch of 3 year olds throwing a tantrum combined with the sarcasm of “adults”…the web is a funny place. Everyone’s sure of CERTAIN DOOM of Lutz’ career and that of GM, but really, they don’t know their ass from their elbow.

huh? ricardohead, no ones saying that it would be easy. at least not me, thats not the problem. the problem is that theyre letting this type of information out. GM announced a time it would be available, GM should release it on that date. they should quit theyre complaining and just keep theyre word. i dont need to hear about ‘problems’. i dont care, im interested in seeing it when they say i could see it, and maybe buy it.

LexusSoarer, you’re wrong. GM knew from the outset it’s not easy to build such a vehicle.

Apparently, however, that is a surprise to 95% of the idiots posting on this board, all of whom thought it was just a matter of sticking a Duracell and a Radio Shack servo under the hood, plus an extension cord under the gas cap.

It seems as if this thing was doomed from the moment it was released as a concept only “to gauge reaction”. GM is apparently finding that its not so easy to build such a vehicle.

the problem is that theyre trying to keep hype up resulting in the public following the status of the project. thats the problem, they should keep there mouth shut. in this case it gives the listening public more ammo to down GM.

every project has problems-thats not new. the prius had countless problems during production they just didnt announce it to the world.

What? A two month delay? Oh my god. Brand new tech and you guys think that it will go oh so smoothly? Obviously none of you have any idea how inventions and tech go. You make up the best guess schedule and then hope for the best but plan for the worst.

If Lutz had said nothing about the delay someone would have found out and a bunch of idiots on the net would say that GM has lost the race and is falling on its face and covering it up. Either way GM cannot win with the audience. Guess it will have to keep putting out winners until they shut up.

Toyota is atm talking about also delaying their battery development. It’s also already been delayed once because of perceived “quality” issues.

I think the largest hurdle is simply getting a supplier of the batteries. They have a few companies working on it, not so much competing for the “contract” though, so it may take a while…

You people act as if they cancelled the project. It’s a couple month battery test delay. Get a grip. Every project has a few postponements here and there. For all we know it’s really because they want to investigate a design change that will get a few more miles out of a charge.

For gawds sakes GM can’t you just surprise us for once by introducing a product that’s ready for the market and let we the customer decide just how much hype it’s worthy of? The Camaro is one thing, but at least we know it’s eventually going to be here. The Volt on the other hand, is just becoming really annoying. Either build the f*cking thing or don’t build the f*cking thing- just make up your mind and don’t tell us any more about it until you have.
