One reason the Japanese car companies always seen to have a leg up is because they aren't resticted by greedy unions (however Toyota does have horrid labor practices) and the Japanese government pours huge sums of money into its auto indutrys (something that doesn't happen here). Nobody will work for a company that mistreats them or does not pay well. They will leave to go to another company that does or not take that job in the first place. Unions were needed in the late 19th and early 20th century but they are obsolete now. Unions and their utterly unreasonable and unsustainable demands destroyed the American Steel industry and now are trying to eat our car industry which cannot be allowed to happen. If they succeed the only cars for sale will be dull, soulless Asian sedans and overpriced euro cars where the steering wheel will be a $1200.00 option. Unions are no longer needed.
