But what of the other vehicles involved in collisions with such behemoths? Why do these crash tests not consider the incompatibility issue ever-present between SUVs and passenger cars? Whether the fault of the SUV driver or other does not matter; if a single person suffers over the arrogance of a corporation or shortcomings of a governing body, the very fabric of our society is undermined and our liberty counts of nothing. A true shame that in a relevant article such an issue is not even mentioned by otherwise decent LLN journalists.

Ok, that’s either creepy or being p*$$y whipped that your wife checks out your LLN blogging. Anyway, I guess you guys didn’t know that you can buy used police cars from car auctions. This was an ex Lake County Sheriff’s car. I bought it to pull the drivetrain and put in a street rod. I heard they were quick cars which led to seeing just how quick one day after work, which led to stopping to play pool and have a few beers, which led to people asking what I wanted with the car, which led to “Because it’s actually pretty quick”, before I knew it I was speeding like hell down a rural road here in northern FL, swerved to miss a deer, ran the car halfway up a bank, rolled it on it’s side, over the roof, on the other side through several fence posts and into an orange grove. A friend towed it back to my garage, and after several arguements between a bunch of beer buzzed “rednecks” I was convinced to go to the hospital to get checked out and told them I was in a “racing” accident, I was fine, had my seatbelt on and would never do that $H!T again after drinking. That car lives on powering my ’50 Chevy pickup. Thanks for being concerned.

Great. At least GM is making good progress on the safety front. This is one area where I’d like to see all manufacturers succeed, ESPECIALLY chinese automakers, as people’s lives are on the line if something goes wrong…
