Spied: 2010 GMC Sierra facelift

08/04/2008, 12:43 PM

By Nick Aziz

Based on a new round of spy photos, it appears the GMC Sierra will receive a modest update for the 2010 model year. Most notably, the Sierra’s schnoz is expected to receive aggressive rhinoplasty.

These new photos show a camouflaged Sierra HD (note the eight-lug wheels), but since the half-ton and heavy duty models look the same, we suspect the updates will come across the line.

It appears designers have replaced the current model’s flush headlights and grille setup with offset chrome-bordered lamps and a deeply inset grille. The hoodline also appears to have grown a bit taller than the current truck.

The Sierra was launched in 2007, so 2010 seems like a reasonable time for a mid-cycle facelift. In this case, it appears the styling changes are a little more significant than we would have expected.

Some facelift. Looks like Kim Basinger after argument with Alex Baldwin.

GM just needs to “lift” the whole GMC brand right into the trash bin. You can’t sell rebadged lackluster gas-guzzlers in this day and age.

First off, xyunya, it’s Alec (with a C) Baldwin…second, RaineMan, I guarantee you that my Duramax could outrun whatever kind of daily driver you have…and I get 22 mpg. No, it’s not close to the precious hippie supporting Prius, but for a veichle that weighs 7500 Lbs, can tow your house away, and can smoke most Jap junk on the road, I say that’s impressive.

But then again, there’s no arguing with sheeple like you. Have fun at your Obama rally… :D

Righ it is Alec Baldwin, but I was more fan of Kim Basinger, can’t imagine Alec Baldwin in 9&1/2 weeks

RaineMan, GM is selling rebadged gas-guzzlers in this day and age. 112,584 GMCs have been sold since gas hit $3.50/gallon in April. GMC’s on track to sell more than 410,000 units for MY2008. The LAST thing GM needs is to throw away 410,000 units of sales volume.

That’s a lot of sales inline6… but they’re gonna need more than double that to have even the faintest hope of getting out of the red.

Hbcbob3… my car is American… not Japanese. It gets 35MPG… and I’d love to see that diesel do 140.

Raineman – I’d like to see a Duramax diesel do 140 mph, too. But more than that, I’d like to see your Focus tow a 12,000 boat. Cars are not ginsu knives. Maybe you can have a knife that you buy for 3 easy installments of $9.99 that can cut asphalt shingles, cut firewood, then filet a salmon and dice tomatoes. Autos are designed with a purpose. Fuc.kin DUH!

take off the restrictors, put on the right tread (90psi tires aren’t meant for high speed, but for high loads) and i would gaurentee that a 360 hp 650 ft/lb duramax will hit 140, no problem. and tow a 8k boat behind. or your focus and xyuniaxs prius at the same time :P

there will ALWAYS be a market for big trucks, suv’s folks. you may want us to all be smaller families, with no toys to pull, no construction work to be done and no FREEEEEEEEEEDOMMMMMM to buy and drive whatever the fck we want to, but we not let your fear dictate our lives damnit. and tell obama/hillary we said so :)

RaineMan I’d like to see YOU do 140 MPH. When’s the last time you were able to? And it’s good to see other level-headed (presumably) conservatives on here. Thought I was the only one on here for a while.

raineman: exactly on the 140 mph. but before you try to get a ticket at 140 mph, i’ll beat you to 50 so bad it’ll make your head spin. then i might just be wired enough to hook that thing up to my truck and drag you down the road sideways without even blinking

psiclone: i figured there is too many loud-mouthed librals out there getting whatever they want…i think it’s time for the conservatives to take control over the country again.

Right on hbcbob3! Wish I could afford the new truck but I love my ‘84 straight axle crew cab with a swapped in Cummins and shortened frame to a shortbox. (Duramax is still a little pricey for me to swap yet and a little wide for my frame rails. Doable but in the future)

We as gun owning, fishing, hunting, outdoorsmen, who like/need to drive trucks, own four wheelers, boats, RV’s, have been the biggets pussies for too long. Its time for us to stand up and not be ashamed of our passions! These are the things that made us great as a country and it seems that it all started to fall apart about the time we started to chastise ourselves for being who we are.

I wish ‘ol Ronald Reagan was still at the helm!
