If you think Ford doesn't get government money, please read and think for once.
There are 650,000 active duty police officers in the U.S. What kinda car do 80%+ drive.......?
Have you thought about it?
Need a few extra moments to mull that over...?
If you drive a Ford, you don't have any reason to knock on GM. These companies do things very differently. For instance, GM doesn't have two completely different lines of trucks. Why make a half ton, one style, and the 3/4 ton another style? So the Superduty is for the "real man"? These companies have kept up with one another for a long time and they each offer differnt things but I tend to lean more towards Chevy (I currently own FORD AND CHEVY's). Does Ford have anything like the Avalanche (full size)? Does Ford have automatic locking rear diffs? If you notice, the commercial ads from the two companies are targeting Toyota. If Chevy wanted to compare fuel economy, which they are very conscious of, they could easily go straight at Ford and knock them all day, but instead they knock the real enemy, which is Toyota ("fertile rice patties" in Japanese).
Bottom line is, your dad mighta had a Ford/Chevy, and your grandpa mighta had a Ford/Chevy, but NO truck made this day and age, is built like the classics

Nice truck.

Missing two things – a set of steel 'nads and a much larger exhaust tip. It really has to be 8-10" in diameter and shaped like the mouth of a canon to truly scare everyone off.

Man I can not believe how narrow minded people are on this site. They resort to name calling and ridiculing GM for what. Everyone knows here that the management screwed the company. Everyone knows here that the cars from early 2000's back were not the greatest vehicles. Times change. Hyundai is great example of that. Their cars were biggest piles of crap when they first came out with the possible exceptions being Yugo and Lada. GM is making very good vehicles now. The SIlverado/Sierra are highly recommended truck, as is the Ford. Buick is tied Jaguar for best overall quality after 3 years by JD Power. The GM vehicles not only look a lot better but actually compete with or best the competition (LaCross, Malibu, Equinox and SRX). And as for the full size trucks in the HD area, the best transmission hands down is still the Allison 6 Speed Automatic in the Chev/GMC.

Sergeon General GM has always played that game well of wait and see what Ford Posts their HP and Torque rating. just so they can make second hand design changes to get a slightly better figure. I mean what do you want in a Truck Longevity of slightly more HP. I'll take longevity and Toughness more in the Ford over the Chevy anyday of the week.

ajm11 Um GM stands of Gross Merde. Merde is French for S***. lol

Awesome trucks no doubt! One interesting piece of info that Leftlane missed is that the 2011 Silverado and Sierra HD's are going to be riding on an all new chassis. A note to the Ford fan-boys. It was the Silverado/Sierra that won pickuptruck.com's last HD shootout. This is not a simple road test, they put the trucks through all types of conditions including fully loaded trailer tests. That said I agree that you really can't go wrong with any of the domestic HD trucks.

WOW GMC - With that tape what are you trying to cover up? The New Government Motors Logo?

I honestly couldn't tell with that disguise what type of truck it was.

Could it be a Hyundai? Nope - didn't take bail out money.
Could it be a Suburu? Nope - they didn't either... hmmm...

Oh by the way...
• Ford F-Series share for September is 40.6 percent, outselling the Chevrolet Silverado by more than 14,000 units and outselling the Silverado and GMC Sierra combined (DOES THIS SAY COMBINED????) by more than 7,000 units; overall F-150 leads by more than 66,000 units vs. the industry
• Calendar year-to-date F-Series share of 35.6 percent is up almost 5 percentage points year over year
• With those numbers in the books, Ford F-Series is three-quarters of the way to becoming America's best-selling truck for the 33rd consecutive year and America's best-selling vehicle for the 28th consecutive year

NICE JOB FORD AND THANK YOU FOR NOT TAKING GOVERNMENT MONEY!!

I agree with the canuck, in full size trucks, you just gotta buy American. I could care less which brand, they all look and perform great. Comes down to which of the three has the best financing at the time in combination with the least arogant dealer.

The domestic 3 have their own strong points and weak points for trucks. From what I have heard from all my friends with Ford trucks their weak point fuel economy. They can get roughly 450 km's to one take of diesel. My father in law with an 08 Sierra diesel can get over 600 km's. But then again, the Ford I believe can pull a little more weight. I play favoritism with the Ford, Chev or Dodge trucks. They are all good vehicles and make excellent work trucks. Anyone that thinks that one is so much better than the others is only kidding themselves.

Why do we even get into pissing contests any more about which domestic full-size truck is better? They're all good... big, reliable and available in a zillion different configurations. Give it up people... 'gee I dunno, ma Furd can tow 50 lbs more than that there Chevrollyay... that's a pussy rig if ya axe me'.

I mean really, if the domestics had always built their cars as well as their trucks the import makers would probably have been scared to come here in the first place.

Sorry boys, but the new 2011 Ford Super Duty with the 6.7L PowerStroke Ford Diesel will rule along with the advanced technology features only Ford can deliver. No HP or torque ratings yet, but I'll bet Ford will rule as they already have over 50% of the HD truck market and growing...

this truck looks just like an oridinary 07 sierra 1500. whats all the fuss about. why is Government Motors stealing ideas from Ford. they stole the mirrors, 3 bar grille with big ass logo in the middle. didn't Government Motors trucks use to have 20 different lights in the front. looks like they copied ford and now have 20 different lights in one headlight unit.

Thanks GM keep it up

Pickup trucks are really starting to get stupefying amounts of torque. How long before there's a tandem-axle 6-wheel option so I can tow 26 tons? I like how the very second Ford or Dodge releases a new more powerful diesel, GM yells "Yahtzee!" and trumps with more torque and power.
