Only in America is a truck a status symbol. In other countries, driving a truck means that you didn’t go college….."

Apparently you didn't go TO college either.

@Truth Incarnate:
My posting is accurate, given my local data. 83% of GMC purchases are made from Italians in my area (from the reputable GMC dealer). I called as a joke and got a serious number. I am not disputing that they should not have made the denali- although I feel its useless when you get a fully equipped "lower model" that doesn't have the name- and there is a reason people buy these- for their ego. Just like why some people buy Explorer Eddie Bauers, becasue it has a cool name. I indeed had a Denali Tahoe in 03 and I can afford one, but choose not too given its reliability issue and poor quality. It was traded in a year later for a Lincoln Aviator. Why an Aviator? Because a Navigator wasn't practical given its size. The Aviator was ok, not great but was much better and had much more quiet flash than the GMC. If you are referring to the GMC comment, then get over yourself. I have had a couple gay friends and they think its hillarious. And one of them HAS a black sierra. Im simply annoyed that GM decides to wait to bring the Denali model to the line after they have their "full line up." Does Ford suddenly bring the Eddie Bauer model to the Explorer name plate after they were released- NO. And neither should GM. They did the same thing with the Acadia. They are sitting in the showrooms and parking lots at the dealership not being bought for whatever reason. Possibly because when they first came out the people around here said- "give me the most expensive one in this color" - see the quotes: from my GMC dealer. Now all the people that wanted the biggest and best have already spent on a non denali because it wasnt coming out. Im not disputing they aren't pretty, because they are, but not for that price tag. Any of them. Its rebadged Chevy that costs 20K more... And EVERYONE knows it.

Not really sure why some people are getting their panties in a bunch... despite all the events leading up to the near demise of GM people still want their big fancy trucks and are willing to pay for them. They're cash cows plain and simple, and while it can be argued that this is exactly what got them in hot water in the first place isn't the whole idea of a business to make profits? All we as consumers can hope for is that those profits are invested a little more wisely than in the past.

Wait a minute GM has more torque and HP then the new 2011 Super Duty Oh My God...............I thought the new SD was the King of all trucks. Looks like it's just yesterdays news.

Of course I'm joking but thats how stupid some posters look on the Ford side.

Wow, this new diesel is strong. Such an improvement over the old one.

Looked up the stats and it overpowers the Ford (5% more torque). Hopefully they have a new diesel coming out this year to keep competitive.

howsmydriving, in Germany that is definately not the case, a truck driver (as in pick-up) is either a fan of US vehicles or a business man that needs a large bed to transport things. A pick-up is in no means a "status" symbol and is neither frowned upon nor cased after, you want "status" then you look at luxury brands or "bubie" cars like VW Golf, Opel Astra, Ford Fiesta, Honda Civic, etc...

Best looking HD on the market, this will be my next truck. For the naysayers there is definitely a market for this, I've always thought the Denali trim should have been offered on the HD's. 765 lb-ft of torque is amazing, this truck will be a pulling beast!

Ford seems to love large grilles of late (fusion, edge, refrigerator... oh sorry Flex, f150, Lincoln lineup). Hopefully this trend will end with the new global design Ford is moving toward. By the way an 11 inch ford logo is ridiculous. If the logo was at least a little exciting looking than maybe lol but a giant Blue Oval is not exactly aesthetically pleasing I hope its just F O R D with no oval like the raptor I can deal with that.

RKelly your ignorant and irresponsible post is very agitating. The reason this truck is made is because the market demanded it. The dealers probably had a lot of customers who wanted the Denali for their HD. The dealers then expressed this concern with GM and hence the model was born. The GMC brand is a higher end pickup thus they are targeting a specific segment (one which you will probably never be a part of) that wants a luxury look to match that of which will be hauled by this monster. This is also a great move by GM they can yield a higher profit on this model with minimum r/d. By the way I think that grille looks great.

Hmm I was expecting a bigger update(aesthetically) but not a big deal, the Sierra was already the best looking truck on the market.
And II wasn't expecting it to put out more torque than the Fords, i honestly thought they'd been caught sleeping.

Gay Mans Chevy should make a Denali edition with every model they reskin from chevy. Not a year later. Why wait- are people really anticipating and waiting for this? If so, I stand correct. Yes they're a little prettier but im sure the door pannles will come loose and the window buttons will break in the same amount of time as a regular model. Its just dumb- some extra cladding MAYBE, and some silver accents inside... So instead of my GMC dealer trying to get me to buy a 50K truck, they can now try to get me on a 58K truck... but some damn italian down the street will get this just because it says Denali on it...
