It's weird to think about it that way, but it DOES have the country convinced that Toyota is going to save the world. When it came out, it shocked Ferrari out of its ivory tower and forced them to start building (more) reliable cars with performance on par with their price and fame. Sadly, while Ferrari improved their cars to previously unheard of levels, the NSX just stagnated while the price increased to another level where it just could not play.
