Hamann tunes second-gen MINI Cooper

12/28/2006, 4:18 PM

By admin

German tuner Hamann has put together one of the first customization kits for the all-new second-generation MINI Cooper. Hamann has yet to develop any modifications for the MINI’s engine, but the firm is offering a variety of add-ons that should improve handling and appearance.

The new kit includes a sporty aerodynamics kit and finish in flag design, sports silencer, coilover suspension, three wheel designs in 17″ and 18″, and a range of interior accessories made of aluminum and exposed carbon-fiber. Gallery after the jump…

I like some of it, some of it I don’t. Taken as a whole though it could have been a lot worse. I’m curious to find out what companies can do with the engine though moreso than the body.

It’s a chick car pure & simple. They’re “trying” to make it appeal to guys, but I doubt it will work. Besides, these damned things are way too expensive for what they are. Much better vehicles available for the money.

If any of you ‘gays’ took this car for a drive you wouldn’t call it that. This car handles like a Go-cart. And it’s fun to drive it on twisty roads or even to take it to the track.

And for all morons Hamann also tunes BMW, Rolls-Roys, Ferrari, Porsche, Lamborghini, Mercedes and Range Rover. (www.hamann-motorsport.de) So I would hardly, if at all call ‘gay’ one of their creations!

Why buy this over a Mazdaspeed3 which is bigger, faster and handles better?? Mini Coopers are way too overpriced and girly looking. Same goes for the Beetle.

Tuning these days = add a dollop of RICE. This looks like someone went wild with a JC Whitney catalog.

LLN…why do you continue to post this crap? Is your primary demographic 12-16yr olds?

You all are incredibly STUPID!!! DO your mothers have children that lived??? Or was the GENE POOL so diluted with EGO that nature did not allow fertilization. If people like MINI’s who are you to say such rude comments about them… So I guess I will make rude comments about you… LOL

I read the article but it must have been a misprint. It mentioned somewhere that this mini was in some way “tuned” however it had merely been vandalized by a group of 16 year olds.
