This drawing looks badass… V6 and manual would do the trick… Unfortunately the conservative side of Honda will kick in and tame it. I hope they keep it close to this.

A rear drive coupe to sell along side the Accord would be the best of both worlds. But this concept drawing looks badass.

Pirelli, you just have to wait for the NSX replacement then. As for the switch to RWD, it’s a moot point. As long as the best selling sedan, the Camry, is still FWD and still outsells everything else, FWD is here to stay. Blame the Camry, not the Accord that’s only following the gold trail. Now, the rest of the Acura lines should be RWD or AWD, there’s no excuse there.

It’s disheartening to me that since the Accord will never be RWD, a few LeftLaneNews Honda enthusiasts will not have what would be the car of their dreams. Other than that, I’m pretty sure the Accord is competing just fine.

it totally makes business sense for them to change to RWD or AWD… part of running a business is foreseeing the future… The industry is moving away from FWD… Yes FWD is still nice for some commuter cars like sentras, corollas, civics…etc, but if they want to compete they need to change…

Honda has no incentive to make a rwd Accord. The car sells well and with Honda Just in Time manufacturing dealersip inventories stay low. Honda is not begging buyers to take their cars so why invest in a different platform to sell the same amount of cars? Personally I wish that hHonda/Acura were RWD too but it doesnt make business sense for them too change.

That’s my point, the Accord won’t compete with the G35 and 350Z and WHY THE !#$!@ NOT? Why can’t Honda throw enthusiasts a bone and give us a rear wheel drive sport coupe to give the Nissan boys a run for their money? The S2000 is a great little car, with emphasis on little. I’d love a nice coupe from Honda with a powerful V6, 6 speed manual and rear wheel drive.

With the competition out there, they should step up to the plate and compete… Either RWD or AWD… They could make a car that really dominates if they didn’t stick with FWD on this one. How about that turbo and AWD from the RDX??

We’ve already discussed this…the G35 and 350Z are NOT competitors for the Accord coupe, or Altima coupe. There won’t be cross-shopping between the Accord and G35/350Z. None.

This car does not compete with the G35 and 350Z. The Accord will never be RWD. Man, why do we get the same comments on every article?

And isn’t Hyundai rated the BEST reliability? So why pick on Honda? Maybe BMW should worry about reliability…

When it finally comes out and is as boring as a NASCAR race with no crashes I’m going to look back at this concept and shake my head in disappointment. Honda can produce some good cars (ala S2K & Civic Si) but most of their cars never really live up to the concept hype. I’d be happily surprised if this turned out any different.

Nissan beat Honda to the punch? Are you mad? Honda has been selling an Accord coupe since at least 1989!

Honda has never claimed that the Accord coupe is a “sport” vehicle. It’s a very pleasant touring/daily driving car. Is there are a problem with that? I’ve owned a couple of Accord coupes and every single one was excellent with very few problems (all of which are covered under warranty anyhow.) I was never a big fan of the current version, but it was still on my short list because it’s a great vehicle. It’s pretty clear that this “concept” car will be very, very close to the production model come next fall.

NO coupe is sold more in other countries than here. But it looks different. I think that your all honda lovers in here so your really going to hate me. I hope that Honda brings back there reliablilty than worriing about what its going to look like. That and every three years you see a new accord.
to much money for the crap your buying now.
Huydai has better relibality.

I’ll admit that I’m biased since I still love my 03 EX-V6 coupe…but I like what I see. I’ll reserve judgement until I see actual pics. Atleast Honda’s latest “concept” exterior’s have held mostly true to form lately. Unfortunately with gas prices the way they are and possibly having kids within the timeframe of my next car purchase I’ll probably be going with a 4-cylinder EX-L w/ navi. Here’s to hoping the sedan’s rear will be just as sharp looking.

The S2000 is far from boring… And the V6 Accord with a stick is quite entertaining. Oh and I second the Civic as the Si in both coupe and sedan form is quite spirited without being too “boy racer”.
