Honda to show 2 tuned Accord models at SEMA

10/24/2007, 9:01 AM

By Drew Johnson

Honda has announced that it will be showing two versions of its all-new Accord coupe at the SEMA show later this month. The Honda Factory Performance version will feature parts currently available as dealer-installed options and will highlight the amount and variety of accessories available.

The second Accord — dubbed the HF-S concept (pictured) — is customized with parts not currently available through Honda dealers, but could be in the not-too-distant future.

Honda Factory Performance parts carry the same 3-year/36,000 mile bumper-to-bumper warranty that comes with the purchase of an Accord.

this car will cost $33k with the nice v6 and a 6 speed manual.
my question to all is who would prefer this over an infinity g37 coupe priced $2k more?
would any of you make that choice?

As much as I love Hondas, I’ve got to agree with eddyjoe. At that price its hitting Infiniti, BMW, and Acura territory. There’s now a big gap between the Civic and Accord (unless you count the Acura TSX). Acura sedan sales are mostly flat, and this new Accord will not help. Honda really needs to look at their midrange models and fix them ASAP.

Yep, I can’t understand all those people who paste crap on a car to try to make it like something else/more when for the same money, they could have just gotten the real thing in the first place. Why buy something like this over a base 3-series/G37 or even an Acura for probably the same money. I just don’t get it. No matter what they load this thing up with it’s still built onto a base car meant to sell for less than $20k… Like the old saying goes, you can put lipstick on a pig, it’s still a pig.

Not to say the Accord isn’t a nice enough car within it’s segment, but trying to be a performance coupe, it’s not really going to cut it.

If they slapped it together and offered it at 28k, then fine. Dealers here are asking 31k for a new stock accord coupe so this will sticker a load higher, so yeah that Infiniti looks damn good at that price, but the hondaphiles will still be all over this like mud on a pig’s butt.

not me.

People dont seem to realize that the G37 has a low base price but if you go for a Journey then they are around 40k not 36
An Accord is an accord and not a TL Unlike the domestics Honda does more to their cars then just change the front and back lights. They change engines interiors and exteriors
Nice try jack ass

tripleonefive: ill take the BASE G37 6MT over this front drive car. forget navigation of the “journey package” i know where im going :)
the variables you arent looking at that i implied are it being front drive and the incredible amount of torque steer produced by whatever great engine they drop in the car. trust me i know that as i had a 6-speed ‘03 maxima with 255hp.. my next car was an s2000. front drive cars for me? never again.

Well where I live the winters are brutal and the idiots with rear drive cars are the ones stuck on the side of the road
I like front drive cars and I obey the speed limits (most of the time) and I have no problem with torque steer.
You people get on here and talk like you are drag racing. I doubt anyone buys these cars and takes them to the track
Whats the point of buying a G37 base ? You want something base get an Altima coupe. If you want an Infiniti you want an Infiniti with all the options. You must be one of those cheapskates who puts those tacky ass portable navs on your dash. Pathetic

1115: It’s all about knowing how to drive. My Mazda was RWD, and I lived in nebraska.

If you lived in souther California, you’d know about these wonderful things called Thomas Guides.

G37 is beautiful, is that point enough? Not that I’d buy one.

Nebraska, that’s a surprise.
I am aware of Thomas guides and if you can find one to give you turn by turn directions then let me know. That must be really convenient in the car. You only buy lower end cars so nav isn’t and won’t be important to you. You probably don’t like any modern conveniences you say things like “AC, Ill just use a fan. I’m not paying markup on cooled air”. “Toilets, Ill just take a **** out back (you are from Nebraska after all) I’m not paying American standards markup lol
You never will buy a G37 BC you are buying Tempos and Mazda’s. Cars like the G37 deserve better buyers than you and no you never make any sense

Lower-end cars?
What a dumbass! I’ve not owned a lower-end car since I sold my Tempo.

“Nav” isn’t important to me, because I have other options.
If you lived in my exurb, you’d understand the foolishness of not having A/C.

I’m not from nebraska, semiintelligent organism, I lived there for 5.5 years.
I’ll never buy a G37 because it’s not Nissan-branded, and unlike you, I’m not going to buy into this faux-luxury crap. Even on a good car, as opposed to an accord.
Skyline? Yes. G35, no.
Get your apostrophes straight!

I’ll be careful about where I take a dump; I don’t want you trying to tap my foot.
