I traded “Jap” for american. At least that mazda. my honda died, so I had nothing to spend and ended up with a ford tempo, which was still much better than the honda

That is entirely too similar to the US Accord in terms of the front end/hood shape.. won’t do too well as an Acura if it looks that much like the Honda!

Things to fix…

1.) Reduce front overhang and height. It looks very much like an SUV, or large wagon, not what Honda is trying to go for on this vehicle.

2.) Make the A pillar windshield- window sill match the curvature of the A pillar itself, and bring up the bottom window sill in the front- it only serves to make the hood look larger.

3.) Get rid of, or go with the point in the back. The grill thing below/ the bumper doesn’t go with it at all, and the overall styling doesn’t follow it- go for something else, or follow through.

Tripleonefive- The Duratec is a great engine. It does it’s job well, note the “dura” in “duratec”. Everything from the Ranger, to the Focus uses it, and so far it hasn’t had any major problems.

None the less, the Mazda 6 has had quite a few quality issues, but none more than Honda has with the Accord.

So, I don’t quite see this, so clarify… where’s Honda’s damn quality reputation gone to?

I seriously wish I could kick Honda’s arse for giving America a downgraded version of the Accord Euro. It saddens me to see America constantly getting the shit pile of *most* vehicles, and then when America doesn’t import the Dodge Challenger everybody cries out “shame on America!”.

I don’t know about that A4, the last generation US 4-dr Accord before the refresh was pretty bland, and it was uglier than the new US Accord.

I have a discerning opinion on Accord: I prefer square puss of American Accord. European looks pretty much like existing TSX; no breakthruogh. I am sure that power will go up (well we know for American Accord it did). I suspect Honda will manage another 10 ponies out of 2.4 L without turbo charging. For comparison purposes Lexus IS 250 is 205 HP out of V6 of slightly larger displacement.

I do like the new Mazda 6 but it doesnt have the rock solid rep Honda does and putting that shitty duratec in it wont help
The wagon will stay in Europe and I think we will get the sedan and a coupe here The coupe is to replace the RSX CL slot in the lineup
Overall I like it I just hope they dont try that 2.4 with a turbo shit No more 4 bangers for me

With their vast experience producing front-wheel-drive cars (and ‘trucks’), why can’t Honda reduce the overhang on their newest models? The early 90s Accords at least gave the illusion of a short overhang. This thing looks like the front wheels are 4 or 5 inches too far back. I give it a ‘B’ for effort. Sorry Honda. Maybe the interior will look good though.

It’s o.k. I like the new Mazda6 wagon much better (it’s unfortunate that the U.S. might not see the new version of the Mazda6 wagon; it actually appears to be a cool looking alternative to a crossover).

I guess if you imagine this vehicle in sedan form then you will probably have a good idea to what the next Acura TSX will look like. I doubt they will bring the wagon version over here, but Acura may surprise us (I bet they think it will still sales from the RDX crossover). Oh well.

This is nice and all, but barely different than the previous one. The front seems to have a really long overhang. I don’t really like it, but it could be that nasty “concept car red” that everyone uses. It’s still loads better than the NA Accord.

I was wondering if Honda was following the same strategy for the new Accord as they did for the last: the portly Accord for the *ahem* somewhat more rotund North American market, and the sleeker Accord for the more svelte markets. Looks like they are.
