As a result of Japan’s March 11 earthquake, Honda has warned its Honda and Acura dealers that inventory levels could be limited through the end of the year. The earthquake will also delay the full roll-out of at least two new Honda vehicles.
According to The Detroit News, Honda warned dealers on Monday that supplies of its Japanese-built Fit, CR-Z, Insight and Civic Hybrid models would be limited for the next few months. Honda also told dealers that its revised 2012 Civic would be produced at “significantly reduced levels” for the foreseeable future.
Although an official launch date has yet to be revealed, Honda will delay the roll-out of its all-new 2012 CR-V by a month as the result of the earthquake. The new CR-V is expected to bow this fall.
Additionally, Honda told its Acura dealers that they may not have access to the brand’s TSX, TSX Sport Wagon and RL models until later this year. All three models are produced in Japan.
