Thearetical resale value is not news.

"A---a ranked highest among luxury brands." Yeah, and Kobe Bryant is the top-rated quarterback.

How come note of these import "values" is anywhere near being the best in its category. The accord almost makes it, but it's no longer a midsizer.
pzimet: "I’m also surprised A---a took that title home." You've not been paying attention. Honda's faux-luxury division is the king of theoretical benchmarks.

drchiem: what?

Borat: "Estimates are not exact science"
reasonableness rears its ugly head.
idrinorbarsaku: I prefer datsun over its would-be competitors as well.

lexussales: No, actual research is not allowed! Only theoretical numbers count.

Impulsive: the CTS is more desirable than just about anything!

1115: H-accord MAY be the car to buy and A---a is not a luxury car

'beatus', what exactly is important? Are you worried? Like the Honda and Acura owners who own ugly cars? I think they SHOULD be worried whereas you're all right.

FACT ... Hondas are ugly. Just like homes with vinyl or aluminum siding. Deal with it, loser.

Your opinion that Hondas and Acuras are the ones to buy is NOT fact, just an idiot's opinion.

Thanks for demonstrating the concept of FACT.

Well you could have bought a Trailblazer and have it be worth 9,000
Depreciation and residual is FACT saying that a car or house is ugly is opinion (of an idiot) and has no validity
Bottom Line is Honda is the car to buy and Acura is the luxury car to buy Now when its time a TL with the SH AWD in white pearl w/ black interior will be my choice

yeah, I used to say that was why I bought Hondas, until I found out that my $36,000, fully-loaded, 2003 Pilot with 50,000 miles is now worth $15,000. The thing is in excellent condition and still smells new. Go figure, must be the pre-ugly sedans.

You don't buy a depreciating asset on the merit of "least depreciating". You may as well buy a home with aluminum siding since it is little to no maintenance ... but then you'll have the ugliest home on the street.

One of the main reasons that I have bought Hondas - when I trade them in, I get good money for them. The last Dodge that I owned lost more than 50% of it's value in two years.

By the way, everyone NEEDS to scroll back up to the top of the page and take another look at the utterly disgusting, truly abysmal, fantastically failing design presented ... that car looks like the MOST pathetic piece of SHIAT for sale today. I wouldn't care if it could drive up walls and jerk me off ... I would NEVER pay a dime for something so WRONG. Dear Lord, help those who pay through the nose to take up space on my roads with that trash.

Big surprise here ... '1115' is an import monkey that has no money and only cares about resale value because it pains him to overspend on Honda SHIAT and he needs to know that he'll have the winner in resale value. Unfortunately, all the while oblivious that, while being a peasant, his mode of transportation looks like litter on the roads and he doesn't understand why the upper echelon of society looks down on chimps like him.

MORE fact ... I have never stated I am a domestic lover ... I HAVE stated the CTS is more desirable than any of its competitors.

MORE fact ... Infiniti is #1 and better than the three you've cited.

MORE fact ... let those companies that can't run a business FAIL. Kinda like you in life, loser.

LS 460 is the best in its segment??? 2007 List Price $71,000 with 30,000 miles good condition, good color. Wholesale on the car right now is around $35,000. the car loses 50% of it's value in less than 24 months. check the auciton results for the past month. I would hate to have the car that took second.

this article was almost a given, you don't really have to read it to know where the awards go. I'm already sold on honda/acura, toyota/lexus and infiniti...but i do prefer infiniti over them all.
i hope all this turmoil teaches the big 2(screw chrysler) to build better products. i can't see them going under, but i can see the gov. forcing the companies to change drastically to save their own a$$es.

Those are projected results. It is also called estimates. I can believe that Accord, CIvic and Fit will be near the top of the game, but Acura? With that beak? Estimates are not exact science. I think the highest residual value will be with Mini, as it was in the past.
Speaking of Lexus: Mulaly drives LS 430 (probably payed out of his own pocket and being fiscally responsible did not lease it). Seen in it more often then in Continental. It should tell you something.

I hope near in the future the American big 3 can turns things around to make it on top of this list. if they make on the list then I will reconsider to buy there car (if they can come up some car to compete with the LS, 7series and S class) but until then I am still a Lexus fan. My Lexus LS 430 and 460 are still bullet proof with luxury you can't go wrong with it.....

I hope near in the future the American big 3 can turns things around to make it on top of this list. if they make on the list then I will reconsider to buy there car before to buy one (if they can come up some car to compete with the LS, 7series and S class) but until then I am still a Lexus fan. My Lexus LS 430 and 460 are still bullet proof with luxury can go wrong with it.....

pzimet: Sign of the times. In the luxury segment, Acura's are not priced as high as most BMWs. While BMWs hold their value well, current buyer preferences for used vehicles are skewing toward more value and less prestige.

Interesting. I'm surprised BMW didn't win more. I'm also surprised Acura took that title home.

I'm not surprised that nearly every domestic brand is "below the industry average", there's some real trash being spewn by the Big 3 these days.
