		<description>Everyone that is celebrating because of Honda cutting production and jobs shoudl be ASHAME OF YOURELF!!!!!!! You are happy because people are now out of work, their families are now in turmoil wondering how their bills are going to be paid, how to pay for their childs college, and if they are even going to have a house to live in. Remember &quot;do unto others&quot;? Well how would you like to be facing the loss of YOUR JOB!! I for one will not celebrate and be happy about any company having to let go of their workers. 

Some of the comments here remind me of a line in the movie ....A Christmas Carol..... &quot;Are there no poor houses? Some would rather die than go there...... well let them die and decrese the surplus population&quot;. That is ecactly how some of these comments sound to me. I HOPE in all your happiness about this YOU still have a JOB so you can PROVIDE for  your FAMILY........you are part of the surplus population also you know and it may be your job next to go.......

And YES I am a PROUD HONDA WORKER. And if the unions and the big three auto makers worked a little more together maybe they wouldnt be in Washington asking for a handout........

This should be a time of coming together to help each other, not making things worse.</description>

Salary (without bonuses) of any given executive in domestic auto industry will buy you most of management in Japan or Europe (all brands combined). Granted those execs stole less then banks or actually hedge funds, but hedge funds could steal only from extremely rich. To invest into hedge fund you must drive DB9, not to dream about one. Domestic auto execs are robbing most of working Americans. And this robbery will go on for a few years exaggerating excesses of past years with new ones. Until someone will call the cards (either China or Arabs or Russians since they are holders of our debt). Fat lady have not sung yet, but we are definitely heading into right direction.</description>

To me, this means these positions were added because times were better than the normal (permanent) positions were able to handle - these positions were the &#039;better than we expected&#039; positions. Now, they&#039;re doing less than &#039;better than we expected&#039;, so they have to cut these positions. I admit to having a slight bias towards Honda, but does the fact that they have some of the most efficient and best-selling cars (both of these points are up for debate) on the road yet they still are trimming excess fat not indicate that this goes beyond making the best product or not, but extends to business practices? It is really bad when a company like Toyota (or Honda) losing money. If you hate japanese cars, then you like to read that, but you dont see the whole picture.</description>

Now where is the poster who is always waxing about &quot;His&quot; tax dollars going to the D3-2 – whatever? Me thinks you should have other worries then a few piddly $B going to Detroit. US GDP is approximately (~) $13.5 Trillion; total public (Federal &amp; State) debt + current FY deficits is ~85% and growing - rapidly if they spend like they want to - the extreme left no controls the executive and legislative.

If US defaults, I get first dibs on California;-) Damn, the logistics of serving 37 million eviction notices:-/

		<description>The question is how bad is it going to get? The second shoe has yet to drop. There is no easy way out of this. The sad fact is, the end result of every extended period of financial exuberance is always a deep pull back. It is part of the long-run cyclical wave – not standard wave theory analysis but longer. The market is naturally trying to reset after a wave of excess. How does it do this – deflation! You can try and prevent it, as they are currently doing, but eventually the piper needs to be paid. Obama and crew, anyone for that matter, haven’t got a chance. Maybe they can buy some more time; then the question becomes how long? Think I’ve been joking or blowing smoke these past few months? What happened to Bank America (BAC) and Citi (C) today? You think the fall of 2008 has been bad… I hope I’m wrong, but…

		<description>Honda has become almost as boring as Toyota which is very disheartening. The only model that even somewhat captures my imagination is the Civic Si Coupe because it&#039;s kind of a spiritual successor to my &#039;95 dohc Neon. Watching a tach needle zing to 7,000 still makes me giggle. I&#039;d be lucky not to wet myself the first time I saw 8 grand in an Si.</description>
