Need more oil for GM and I had such high hopes for you. Tisk Tisk. Listen the Volt if Chevy is lucky to get it out the door will get a few sales it won’t be that big. ANd Honda and Toyota will be just fine.
Meanwhile the Tesla in some ways steals the show- name me any other car on the market that is completely electric that can go for 300 miles on a single charge and carry 7 passengers that my friend is impressive. I like the looks of the S sedan although I think the touch screen they will have problems with that thing. I could be wrong but that has been my experience with them.

I’ve always wondered why we don’t have any other sportbike makers in the US, except for a couple models from Buell (And I never see Buells on the road anyways). We’ve pretty much left the sportbikes to Japan and Europe. I always wished someone would truly step up and fill that void.

NMOFGM, don’t forget Buell. They are one of the only American cycle makes that have sport bikes, which most Kawasaki riders prefer over cruisers or fastbacks. Singling out Harley is just wrong.

Fit Hybrid sounds cool. I’m not much of a Fit lover, myself, but I see them everywhere. They are more of a looker than the Yaris, too.

CR-Z sounds even cooler. 140 hp is enough to have fun with if the weight stays down.

It’s tough for these automakers to make the CAFE and safety standards, all the while keeping the price down. Pretty soon, we’ll be buying cars with technology from Lockheed and Grumman. I’m sure we’ll be paying for it, too.

Okay, here’s the difference between the Tesla and the Volt (which shouldn’t even be in this discussion):

Tesla is an EV that goes 225 miles on a single charge, and then has to be recharged for no less than four hours. Tesla Roadster is also considered a supercar, and therefore is priced as such.

Volt is a serial hybrid that can run on EV only for 40 miles, runs on gasoline (to charge the batteries) for 600 more miles, and then it can be refilled at a normal gasoline filing station within a few minutes. The Volt is considered a family car, and is priced a bit high for my wallet, but it’s much more affordable.

The two vehicles are not comparable in any other way than the fact that an electric motor drives the wheels. One of them actually uses gasoline, the other never does. One must be charged via an outlet in a house or other building, the other doesn’t “need” to be plugged in ever in order to operate.

Neither is superior. It’s like saying green is better than red. It all depends on the use of it, and the needs of the individual.

But most of my “ignorant comment” was directed towards his “getting bad and unreliable” remark. Where has anyone said that? Most sources (Consumer Reports for one) will tell you that while Ford (The company I follow closely) isn’t perfect, they have been improving for several years now. And GM has their own problems but on the whole I would say they are improving. So how are they getting worse?

The fact is that while they have their issues, not only are American companies (Especially Ford) competitive, they produce some great cars. And “Getting bad and unreliable”? In fact JD Powers and Consumer Reports would say the exact OPPOSITE, that especially Ford is making great strides forward. You can hate on American companies all day long, but don’t do it out of ignorance…

- You can go on Edmunds and Motorweek and check Edmunds got 36.7 and MW got 38.9 so its get more like 37.8 or 38.

The real king of hybrid vehicles is Ford. The hybrid Fusion is a real car that people can ride in safety, style and still get over 41 mpg. A team of drivers took a stock hybrid Fusion and got over 1400 miles on a tank of gas!! GM is developing this Volt that will not sell because it will cost to much and only the Hollywood movie star tree huggers will buy. They will not be able to recharge the Volt because of the rolling blackouts in Southern California. Go Government Motors!!!!

The Volt will wipe Honda and Toyota off the map once and for all. Everyone would rather drive a GM vehicle and once Gm has theirs on the market, everyone will be flocking to it. The hybrid craze really hasn;t taken off and won;t take off until the Volt arrives. Until then, save your money and buy a superior Chevy Cobalt or Pontic G5 which get similar mileage while being better built, way more relible and WAY more respected.

It’s embarrassing to own an import. Drive American. Buy GM.
