read the article again. They said they were going to build the Fit here BUT send other builds back to Japan, We are gong to loose jobs here.

Whatever floats your boat Honda. If it’s cheaper to import parts than the cars as whole, not a bad choice to make. Plus like HINKS and Beagumongos said, more jobs are welcome. Especially for those poor people that worked in the plants that retard company GM and Chrysler closed.

Nah the 6″ longer front end looks better than what’s driving around Europe. It looks even better (like the Nissan Rogue) when you add the optional chrome outline for the grill

I wonder what Honda vehicle will now become imported.

KarLoveBoy88 somebody butchered the Fit for the N. American market, it has a six-inch longer nose than the international edition, making it look like a distorted snowplow in comparison to the tight coherent original design.

I am sure there are other rats out here in Alberta, just look to where all the politicians are here. As for Honda building the fit in U.S. that is a good thing, creates more jobs.

Honda rules! Just hope they don’t let the Americans start and design future models for the Fit. Its one of the few models they have yet to butcher. And the last thing that needs to happen is the yen getting more powerful and the American dollar getting less profitable. But does this introduce the possibility of a cheaper Fit? Maybe not, but its worth a try to mention it.

Yep, as the US falls to the cellar and our trading partners rise up our nation once again can become a manufacturing location. Perhaps even soon we will build some stuff that is built in China. Well, I doubt that.

Anyway the article says that they will send production of other vehicles back to Japan to make up for the Fit builds so NO net gain on jobs here. In fact he says that higher tech vehicles, i.e. vehicles that take more manhours to build,will go back to Japan to be built so a net loss in jobs for us.

Gotta say though that Honda has the highest US built percentage than any other non domestic.

I’m back … with more FACTS ….. the U.S. will see more production opportunities as the dollar continues its fall another 25% over the next few years. Compared to every other semi-worthy currency belonging to a nation manufacturing anything, the dollar will be screaming ‘WELCOME’.

I wrote about this last year … seems the Japanese, and most others, are a few steps behind the king of FACTS.

Move production to where Honda makes those not-so-great selling “trucks”. The reduction in the demand for vehicles like the Pilot, Ridgeline, etc … could easily be taken over with Fit production. Honda is famous for its ability to produce multiple vehicles in the same plant … they might as well show off their abilities in this instance.
