I'm happy honda is trying to make this happen , although my eyes like the look of the 2007 rear end of the crz, over that of the 2009 version. I do like the 2009 front end version better then the 2007. The 2007 version looks more like the crx of old. Honda you will do better with the 2007 rear end version! I still own a
1991 crx, so please keep this in mind, when producing your final product.

I like the ideal of this hot hatch! It has the euro flare of the Civic Type-R with the original CR-X, but with hybrid technology. I can just imagine the wicked sick 8,000RPM rev line all while saving gas and the world at the same time. But knowing Honda and their stupid concept to real life differentiations, this car will be the production car will be the exact replica of this car.

Johnny, I don't know if it is great looking, but it is certainly has the right number of pedals. I hope it moves better then predecessor (the first Insight). I am not sure a lot of them will be sold: majority of drivers would confuse left and right feet.

That's one cool little CRX replacement. Finally!!
Hopefully, they'll offer it in a non-hybrid version. Maybe a 1.8 or 2 Liter engine, more power, less money... Perfect!

The front is ugly. I like the headlights, but the front grille has to go. What's with the front overhang of Hondas lately?

....you're comparing a 21st century car packed with technology and government compliance to a sprightly 1988 econobox? Jesus. Everyone knows the MKII GTI was better anyway.

Very nice profile

The original 1988-91 CRX was a better design
But this one will obviously have a better, roomier interior

Stcik-shift hybrid sounds like a winner!

If they're smart they will have an Si, with the Si engine from the Civic
If not better

This is sharp. Judging from Mercedes', Volvo's, and other's attempts at making the rear end of a car like this look attractive, it must be rather difficult. This, however, looks well done. Volvo seems to have taken design cues from a microwave oven and a dog kennel and combined the worst aspects of both when seeking inspiration for the rear of the C30, and the rear of the last generation C-Coupe from Mercedes looks like the designers just got tired of looking at it and gave up.

Good job Honda. I like the new Accord sedan a lot and I also like this car.

I like Hondas but their styling has become a bit dull over the past 10 to 15 years. It typically takes about a year for most Honda models to grow on me. I think the problem is most Hondas only look good in the maxed out version with nice wheels and factory ground effects and spoilers. Imagine this car with little 14" or maybe 15" wheels with hub caps, loss the front fog lights and the lower rear bump, and turn the head lights into some big bug eyes.... then you have just another typical dull looking Honda here. Let's hope this is not the case. This is looking good as it shown now. Honda has more pics on their web site: http://automobiles.honda.com/cr-z/

Love it. I saw on another site that they are expecting 32-35mpg? How was that not attainable WITHOUT the hybrid motor? I understand the added weight of newer safety requirements, but the 20 year old Honda CRX models got in the lower 40's. Even the Si achieved low 30's with ease. I miss my 1989 Si and believe it's still being driven with 250,000 plus miles on it.

YES!!! I LOVE IT!!! bring the production CR-Z Type-R to the united states!

@lionwithoutpride:
Where did the old C-coupe rear end come from? many said the CR-X / generation 1 Insight... that rear window / taillight design did not originate at M-B, as with most everything that they produce

I'm not exactly an astute observer of aesthetics and my knowledge of cars is laughable, but I can't help feeling like this car's behind looks like the butt-end of the early 2000s Mercedes hatchbacks. And, I've heard a lot of folks complain about how ugly those were.

This company moves so slow.... how long ago did the first CRZ concept debut. I feel like it was back in 2002 or something. I know this because the S2000 was still popular at the time.

Looks pretty cool from the front wheels back. You can see a lot of shrunken Accord coupe in the profile. Now just tone down the girlie front end so it doesn't end up being laughed at like the Mazda3 and they'll have a true winner.

Ugly? Really? This is the best looking Honda since the S2000 made its debut. And a manual transmission to boot. They'll sell a zillion of these if it actually scoots along like its predecessor.

with that black (albeit transparent) rear window, i'm not sure white is the best color for the car, but it probably looks pretty sharp in black...that's how i preferred the crx back in the day...i like this, even if just for nostalgic reasons...i wonder what the performance numbers look like...
