While attending the first-ever Goodwood Moving Motor Show, a spectator that sat inside a running Honds Civic Mugen R on an indoor display revved the gas – launching the car into two pedestrians and two parked Jaguars inside the Ride and Drive hall.
Although exact details concerning the accident are still being compiled, PistonHeads believes that as many as three pedestrians were struck, with unknown injuries. In addition to the pedestrians, the oldest running Jaguar E-Type and a new Jaguar XKR also sustained damages, although they are believed to be cosmetic in nature.
Spectators at the event described the event, suggesting that the driver of the Civic Mugen R apparently floored the vehicle while on the Honda stand, sending it shooting off the stand, diagonally crossing the main pedestrian walkway and through the Jaguar stand.
After the scene was cleaned up, the show was re-opened – sans Ride and Drive activities.
