Honda ’s upcoming Insight hybrid sedan, which will truly be the hot-selling Toyota Prius ’ first one-on-one competitor, will share many of the Toyota ’s proportions when it is introduced in concept form in a few weeks at the Paris Motor Show. But Honda says that any resemblance the two share is because of the design’s inherent aerodynamics.
“It was done that way because it was the most aerodynamic design, and we were going for fuel economy,” Honda’s Chuck Schifsky told The Detroit Free Press. The Insight’s design is based heavily on the FCX Clarity, Honda’s hydrogen fuel cell vehicle.
