Following on the heels of the Sports Modulo Civic Type-R concept, Honda has released images of its Inspire Modulo Concept ahead of the car’s Tokyo Auto Salon debut next month. The Inspire recently launched in Japan and is based on the U.S.-spec Honda Accord.
The Inspire Modulo Concept wears a unique front and rear fascia, new headlights, a revised grille and custom 19 inch wheels.
The interior of the concept sports orange leather seats with black crocodile skin inserts. The Inspire Modulo Concept also features an independent audio system for all four passengers and two LCD monitors mounted in the headrests of the front bucket seats.

THE words “chintz” “bling” “gangsta rapper” “pimp” and “disgusting” all spring to my mind. They came up with a perfectly good design, then stuck chrome, crocodile skin and bling wheels all over it. UGH. Makes me want to vomit.

Dear God!!!! I cannot believe anyone thinks this horrid design is attractive … didn’t the Transformers movie have room for one more mutant?
That front end looks like one of Mike Tyson’s earlier opponents, after getting mauled.

Yay, its an Accord for the Japanese market. So what?
Positives: It doesn’t look that boring and its good they are not trying to sell it as an Acura for double the money

I think honda is using the old pontiac style language, meaning a bunch of **** going on for no apparent reason. I totally agree with the transformer reference.

My guess is the box with the x is the preferable design!

The Modulo kits have always been the one with more taste than the usual asian punk kid look of Mugen. When seen in a complete package they look quite nice though I’ve always been against bodykits that don’t do much to real world performance. I’d imagine this to be popular in Asia. US spec Hondas have always been sold with less features and accessories as their jap counterparts. There’s no point in pimping a US Honda.

The new Accord is a design disaster and this monstrocity just adds to it.
Someones been smacking Honda designers over the head with an ugly stick.
Honda’s at least used to be classy looking.

Obviously we coming on another thread of racism and arrogance. Taste is individual quality and I believe that not many rednecks will admire either Vermeer or Cezanne. Heck they even don’t know what I am writing about. Admittedly they do have sense of taste, albeit probably not the same as mine.
The staff of NY Times dedicated to automotive news consist of 3 writers. They composed lists of their favorite cars. There was only one car present on all 3 lists: new Honda Accord. It is continuously present on Car and Driver 10 best cars (year after year) and Road and Truck as well as Automobile etc. Perhaps automotive journalists don’t know what they are writing about, but many contributors to this forum do. Delusional grandeur meets 21st century on our little blog.
There is not a body kit that could make ugly car look good. The only reason Inspire looks good is because our Accord (Inspire everywhere in the world) looks good. Japan has the same version of Accord as Europe (our Acura TSX).

To all who think this abomination of an already lackluster design is actually good…….
your insane. This thing takes an ok at best car and adds all types of fragile and pinched surface executions to it. One question Honda, Why?
The Accord is a car for the masses. Why would you go and ruin it by making it look like something from the twisted brain of H.R.Geiger? This as well as that Civic destruction listed on this site.
Honda is a simple brand, simple moto and simple executions and oh yea simple designs. you guys should really keep it that way.

The salon to be held in Japan for Japanese market. The car looks familiar as US destined Accord, but it is not a mass seller in Japan (and Europe) as it is in US. Perhaps Honda aware of markets needs of Japan?

Its 1115 and its bc Gm has the audacity to actually think that their cars can compete with the proven Japanese
GM is attempting to fool the American public and by the looks of the idiots on this board its working
They have to prove their cars can go the long haul with little to no problems just like the Japanese and then they can be in consideration when a consumer is shopping for a new car

Actually you know what to be fair, the new Accord has perfect crash test ratings, better than the Altima and the new Camry, and even better than some premium sedans in the market. The 3.5 coupe would would make a nice gift for your college kid. It’s cheap enough but has everything he wants and everything you want (safety).

Crocodile-skin inserts? No that’s pimpin’!
Syrax: the only thing that would keep me from buying an accord is every other midsizer, save Camry.
