mazda5 also is priced reasonably, can be had with a manual (but for this kind of vehicle, you be doing it for less maintenance i guess), and projector lens headlamps, with HID Xenon available too.

I’d wait for the 2.5l engine to go in it instead of the 2.3l.

Honda already has a Mazda5 competitor.. it’s called the Stream, and Honda would be smart to bring that handsome Civic-based sportwagon to the US ASAP. This is understyled and undermotored, no way would this sell here (unless, of course, it were given away for FREE(d).

Astonman12 – I hope that there aren’t any racism-sensitive people on here that misconstrue your comment as being racism. After all, it is actually true, and if anything it is a compliment to Asians which happen to be smaller than fat-ass Americans who can only fit 6-7 of themselves in their minivans.

Anyway, this minivan, like all minivans, is pretty ugly maybe even uglier than average. But the dashboard looks really functional. The front passenger seat can almost be used as a desk to write bills, phone numbers, etc.

Take the 7-pax, replace the L15 engine with the K24 from the TSX, and Honda now has a great Mazda5 fighter. I’d say ready for the U.S by 2012.

I can’t help but think to myself how much this looks like one of those Ssangyongs (es) that veda has. Not knocking on your vehicles, just ugly.

I really do enjoy Honda’s quirky interiors however.

Hey Honda, we want to be “Freed” from these ugly designs. Please FIRE your design chief. First he blames the bean-counters, now he basically took their cubicles and put four wheels on it. Tint the windows dark, give the bean-counters some masks and this will make a hell of a get-away car. The way your designs are heading, you might have to rob Pinafarina to get idea.

i like that interior. but yeah, the vehicle as a whole is pretty damn ugly. the near vertical rear end is nasty-looking, even if it does make sense from an interior space perspective.

yes, torque sucks.

But I tell you one thing, in a people mover/minivan, torque is a negative. Giving a car full of kids whiplash , or pulling away with a jack rabbit start is exactly the opposite of what a good minivan ride experience should be.

6-7 years ago they had no plans of bringing Fit into US as well.
My concern is for llama: in original Fit brochure Honda had llama standing in a car, will there be room for llama now with extra seats?
