Honda’s sports car line should be like this.

Flagship Midengined RWD NSX. A V6 ala GTR wouldn’t be bad.
Genesis Coupe/FT-86 Fighting Prelude. Based on stretched, updated and modified S2000 platform. I know they were FWD before but a change to RWD wouldn’t hurt.
S2000, same as is, just update it.
CR-Z. VW Scirroco rival, with normal 4 banger’s and an electric version.
Civic Type R’s, Si’s and Coupe’s.
FWD Integra to fight the Chevrolet Cobalt SS and other cars that are alike.

Since the demise of S2000 the words Honda and “sports car” do not belong in the same sentence.

That being said… exactly what qualifies as “eco-friendly” these days? Cobalt SS… 260hp, 30MPG. That seems pretty good to me.

Besides, these electric cars and hybrids aren’t very good for the environment in the long term. What happens to the battery packs after they expire? It’s not like you can just crush a battery.

@Stix, that’s exactly why Honda is not building a V10 car, because most people would only “like to see it”, not buy it.

Stix -without volume selling cars like the potential CR-Z, they’d be no hope whatsoever for a future V10 or whatever sport car by Honda..so let’s hope these things sell like wildfire and pump up Honda’s cash coffers for future development programs

you’re hung up on semantics…you make an eco friendly sports car by having sports car performance, but greater efficiency…electric motors are much more efficient than gas engines…sooooo…if you switch to electric you can have the same level of performance, but use energy more efficiently and reduce local emissions…

“Eco-friendly sports car” = massive oxymoron

Sports cars were never Eco-friendly to begin with. How is this CR-Z going to fare any better?

I would’ve loved to see a V10 powered successor to the old NSX, but unfortunately, we have to put up with this crap. They better hope that this car turns out to be good than their aborted, premature, lovechild known as the Crosstour.

I call BS. They just couldn’t come up with a design that didn’t look like crap. Unfortunately that hasn’t stopped them when it comes to anything else they’ve introduced lately.
