Due to improper assembly during the manufacturing process, the left driveshaft may separate from the outer CV joint, preventing the engine from moving the car in any gear. If the separation occurs while the car is parked, it is at risk to roll away if the parking brake is not engaged.
The automaker will begin notifying owners of the recall on June 21, at which time dealers will inspect the driver's side driveshaft and install a new unit if necessary.
