Honda’s thinly veiled CR-Z “concept” is attracting most of the attention in the Honda booth at the Tokyo Motor Show, but there is at least one other noteworthy Honda concept at the Tokyo show – the Honda SkyDeck concept.
Although ‘minivan’ doesn’t often come to mind when you think ‘cool concept’, the SkyDeck manages to meld the two. Highlighted by a CR-Z inspired front end, the SkyDeck looks like a version of the Honda Odyssey we could be into.
Other notable features of the SkyDeck concept include its Lamborghini-style scissor front doors, complete with rear doors that pop out before sliding back. Not exactly practical stuff for the soccer field parking lot, but very cool nonetheless.
As the name implies, the SkyDeck has a large glass ceiling, giving the concept a very spacious feel. Although nowhere near production intent, the SkyDeck’s wood accents give a decidedly up-scale feel.
As the SkyDeck is a pure concept at this point, Honda didn’t even bother to release any technical specs. However, the Japanese automaker says the MPV would theoretically be motivated by a hybrid drivetrain.

Is this hinting that Honda will soon add an Acura-like ‘Power Plenum’ grille to its vehicles?
I like the rest of it.

Is it weird that I want to regurgitate my lunch and spit it at the grille?

i like the shape, although it’s very appliance-like in white…similarly, why toyota did the glamor shots of the LFA in white, i don’t know, its not the most complementary color for a car’s curves…

There’s no point in me even looking at any other pictures after I saw the front end of this car. Seriously Honda?
Does that front end maybe look a little bucktoothed to anyone else? Or maybe a Hitler mustache?

I noticed that the styling theme in front is “Lets make it look like the face pf a clown” This was all started by the 2010 Mazda 3 , which looks just like the joker to me

This evolution of “beakage” to Honda simply supports the arrogance of said company. They refused to learn from the first application on Acura, standing their ground and dispersing it throughout their line-up; now they are going to be so arrogant that they are going to use it to finish flushing their other brand down the toilet. Stupid Honda!

That will most likely become the next JDM Odyssey.. and would have been a much nicer addition to the US market than the horrid Crosstour. SkyDeck seems to be a nod to the old Aerodeck moniker fitted to JDM Accords in the ’80s.

That beak/mustache looks easily detached, if just tugged on (violently).
Maybe if they keep it that way, and left some mesh-esque grillage behind there, this would be a nice relief in dealers across the country.
