The front end looks like it has buck teeth sticking out over it's bottom lip. It's a design that is different for the sake of being different. Don't see the point.

If the Japanese are looking for some sort of design language, retro is in. And I would be looking back to that beautiful Toyota 2000GT or a Datsun Z.

Honda's level of design of late is absolutely scary...they manage to include the odd interesting element here or there but overall is seems like everything they're put out since the HSC looks like one of those hyper-aerodynamic amorphous early 90s "blobs". Boner rating so far this year zero.

Worse, they seem to be gearing up to go further and further down the techno-gadget path, which is the one thing that's always absent from their best cars in the real world!

Honda, please just bring back elegant engineering, advanced materials, sorted suspension and great engines and stick to it!

Aston Martin: I agree with you 100% on your synopsis of the quality of Japanese vs. American autos. You're right on the money. CTS DRIVER don't jump to conclusions about what Aston is sayin, he's being realistic, something many people can't seem to do these days.

I think this looks really cool, especially the front end. By using such a thin strip of LED's as the headlamps, it makes it look as if there are folding headlights such as in the early 1980's Pontiac Firebird/Transam, but really that's just an illusion as the lighting is done with that tiny strip of LED's! Brilliant!

CTS DRIVER,

I do not hate America. I simply think they have gone out of their Golden Age of car manufacturing, the time when the GT40 was winning Le Mans, Detroit was bringing out fantastic musclecars like the Challenger, the Mustang and the Camaro. I wish they could somehow rekindle that magic. Ford is making some great cars, but they are on the edge of bankruptcy. Good luck America, more of the old stuff please.

V-series,
I think that the Japanese build better, more desirable cars than the Americans. At motoir shows, the Japanese come up with great, exciting looking cars equipped with the minute's latest technology. On the other hand, GM and Ford will boast about their latest pick-up truck, a simple car still being used all the time by people in large parts of America. No wonder Ford is about to go bankrupt; all they seem to make are pick-ups, along with a few true gems, namely cars, not trucks. Cadillac will show us a huge, blinged-up 4x4 for the world's rappers to enjoy. Japanese cars may not be the maddest, or the most appealing, but are definitely the most sophisticated.

This concept looks great, apart from the name, which is just too unimaginative and boring. It would be great if the next-generation NSX looked like this.

That's as ugly as the toyota FT-HS. What's with the japanese and coming up with such ugly concepts...or just ugly cars in general. They should keep their hideous, low-quality, vanilla cars out of the U.S.A.

Very nice exterior design! It reminds me of the 1993 Mazda RX-7. One problem though: it has NO REAR WHEEL DRIVE! I am so sick Honda coming out with nice designs and ideas labeled with the word "sports" that are still based around a FWD architecture.

Unless it's a 2200lb CRX with a 200 horsepower IMA engine, It doesn't matter how good it looks. I don't want to "tune" or "mod" Hondas for more power so I want the power factory equipped and unless it's a featherweight two-seater I don't tolerate front wheel drive. Move on, Honda. Do your cool looking design some justice with both a hybrid drivetrain AND rear wheel drive.

Holy crap, anyone imagine how expensive those would be to replace, seeing how much of a niche car this would be?

Blakkarr,

The S2000 replacement I read about was moving to a hardtop coupe and a 2+2 format. That concept is quite racy, it could work

BTW, you're right about the interesting part of the S2K, Honda put a lot into that machine. They did not make money on it, but it will be a legend.

You have to drive one balls out..

What is the point of making a concept like this? It would never meet code as a production model. All Honda is doing with this is showing us what we WON'T be getting, just like those idiotic Mazda concepts.

Renton,

The S2000 is getting turned over for a new model. A new S2000. Unfortunately I don't think Honda is going to give it much fanfare, but it'll be a better car. Much like moving on from the C4 to the C5 then the C6 Corvettes. They took it as far as they could and have to make a new machine altogether to go further. I know I saw pictures of it at the Tokyo auto show a year or two ago. It looks a bit larger and I think there was mention of a more powerful engine.

I know nothing substantial. I'm looking in on it. I had written the car off until you started preaching about it. Seriously though, aside form the ho-hum styling, it really seems to be a really interesting car.

Anyway, Honda should maybe stick with their usually curiously bland, yet understated-ly sporty styling. This hybrid concept looks like Honda was trying to copy Mazda's Ryuga concept but in a strangely unsuccessful minialist style.

Interesting that after some really hideously angular Acura concepts, this seems to hark back to the beautiful HSC concept.. maybe that's good news for the NSX replacement?

VERY BAD HONDA

Yes but it's never too late to convert to what most of the world is used to. Wouldn't rappers sound so much more impressive if they all sang about how they're rollin' on sixties instead of puny little twenty-fours. (They wouldn't even realize 60cm

davebo, wheels and tires are measured in inches cause that was the first system implemented to make tire sizes standard. its a lot easier to say i have 20 inch rims than 51.2cm rims. Michelin did launch metric tires in the 70s the were called TRX. they were fited to lots of preformance cars but they died out.

Cobradreamer427 -- "If that piece of SHIT replaces the S2000 I will hate Honda."

What if has like a 300 hp sceamer 4 cylinder, and handles and brakes better than the S2000?

I had a feeling this could be it. They're saying FWD sports hybrid, but me thinks otherwise.

if I can't drive it like a race car then I don't want to drag my ass around on the pavement. When it takes me more time to get to my destination then please- no slipcovers on the floor.
