In other words… Chrysler is going to freshen the exterior and sorry slab-like interior of the 300 soon enough (supplier rumours on other boards suggest more MB- and Lexus-like interior upgrades)

This puts GM (Buick, Pontiac, and even Cadillac) and Ford (Lincoln & what’s left of Mercury) another generation behind.

They blew it on catching Chrysler on fwd minivans and can’t now they seem unable to get a strong-styled rwd near-luxury sedan to market. Aussie imports for both solutions?

Does it have a base V-6, optional powerful V-8, driving the rear wheels with an optional all-wheel package for the North, designed with class, great proportions, understated “jewelry”, Lexus/Infinity-quality interior, 6-speed manual or 6-speed Twin-Clutch Auto?

Does it have it’s own platform so it IS NOT ANOTHER CAR/CUV/SUV BASED ON THE MAZDA6???

Otherwise, its just a gussied-up Ford, again.

Past lincolns shouldnt have either, this is something that should be done w/o any thought, lincolns should never look like fords, this shouldnt be a breakthrough, its common sense

I don’t think the Zephyr is a Fusion with different grille and head/taillamps.
But I think the Zephyr is a MILAN with different grille and head/taillamps.

By the way, I hate Lincoln’s new names. What will be the Navigator’s new name- the MKB? (for big/bling)

MKZ looks…heck, it IS very different than the Fusion, while the MKX is much more similar to the Edge. The Navigator could have taken a cue from the Highlander/RX and rounded out the D-pillar a bit.

i do have to give ford credit, the zephyr was definately not a fusion with a different grille, and im a little dumbfounded why they would think that. their badge engineering with lincoln is better for those two models than most others. Im also confused why they didnt mention the Navigator/Expedition… thats badge engineering they need to work on.
