I hope the Hummer line continues through to the H10. Don't hate it just because you can't afford it. The Hummer are some of the finest offroad stock vehicles you could buy along with the wrangler. They are built for a purpose, and that purpose is not to please everyone. Too bad they become "Pimped Street machines" more often than effective offroaders.

Sigh again...and what was the H3's engine? Oh, that's right, a crappy gasoline I-5. Just what the hell are they going to fit into the H4? An even crappier, underpowered engine? Damn it!

"The new Hummer H4, would join the H3 and H2 models and probably be built from a smaller version of the H3 chassis, said Lindland, who's based in Lexington, Mass. It would compete with DaimlerChrysler AG's Jeep Wrangler, she said."

Mike: Chevy will get a new crossover and Hummer will get an H4. The H4 will be more truck-like, so it will do the sort of stuff the trailblazer can. The chevy crossover will be more like the enclave, it would seem.

What about GMC? Does it seem logical to consolidate GMC and Hummer into the truck brand for GM?

They never said the crossover would be based on the H3. They said the H4 would be based on the H3 and that a car-like crossover would fill the TrailBlazer's spot.

Ummm..... is LLN confused? how can you have a crossover based on the H3platform? the H3 is based on the colorado/canyon/I350 pickups, solid axle, body on frame, etc...

what would it be crossing over into? Is a crossover not a unibody car platform adapted for use as a cute ute?

saying that this is a crossover based on the H3 platform makes as much sence as diluting the hummer brand with a true, unibody, ifs/irs, transverse engined crossover.

That's an interesting plan. GM could actually be seeing clearly now! Seems the way of larger SUVs is really diminishing. The crossovers are becoming extremely popular. Moving the Trailblazer to Hummer could be quite brilliant actually, in that Hummer will be established as the SUV brand.

Speaking of crossovers, I am still waiting for the Pontiac Rageous. Remember that one? One of the first "crossover" concepts, and they scrapped it.
