It’s no secret that SUV sales are down this year. Way down. Since Hummer only produces SUVs and is the poster child for poor fuel economy, it should come as no surprise that Hummer sales are down 43 percent this year. But business must go on and Hummer has released a new, limited edition of the H2, dubbed the Black Chrome Limited Edition.
As the name implies, the Black Chrome editions gets plenty of black chrome accents – from the ubiquitous Hummer grille, the fuel door and even the SUV’s 21-inch wheels.
The Black Chrome Limited Edition will be available in three colors, but only the Sedona Metallic paint scheme (pictured) will be exclusive to the Black Chrome version of the H2, complete with matching interior.
1,300 H2s are earmarked for the Black Chrome treatment, with availability in SUV and SUT guises.

How about launching Hummer off to a foreign auto company? GM doesn’t need this distraction any longer.

Huh, the interior looks pretty cool in that color. I’ve always liked the no-nonsense interior.
Everyone complains about the Hummer H3’s fuel economy, but fail to realize it’s just average for it’s class, if not BETTER.

Someone need to blow up every Hummer dealership in the U.S. This SUV is horrible on fuel consumption and is basically a street legal Army Truck. Whoever thought of this need to be fired! Everytime I see one of thses on the road my skin crawl. I truely dislike the Hummer Lineup!!!

GalaxyCruiser316 – this has nothing to do with an army truck, you gullible fool. This is a last-gen. Yukon with an ugly body and a lot of extra weight.
.
This Hummer owes its success to ill-informed twits like you, who marketing agencies were able to lead by the nose into buying an overweight, underperforming SUV which is entirely unsuited to the tasks that its buyers like to pretend they are going to perform.

Why doesn’t GM simply put the bulk of it’s money already going to Hummer towards investing in new, ultra fuel-efficient engines. In the process, dropping many of the unleaded models for today’s diesel counterparts, as well as eventually throwing in the mix an engine from the upcoming Volt for those who simply want the ‘Hummer’ image – afterall, that is the only reason many of H2 owners buy the vehicle for.

I think it looks quite good but like RaineMan said, it’s nothing a can of spray paint can’t take care of on a standard H2.

How about better than 63bhp/liter. and maybe make it lighter. Or drop all the models and brinh the H1 back with 500+ hp and build em on special order only. Put the Z06 or ZR1 motor in it and sell it for 200,000+. Im sure it will make more money than what its like now.

Seriously, you know what would sell faster than “Black Chrome” Hummer H2s? How about a Duramax-powered H2?
This is absolutely pathetic IMHO. When will GM ever listen to its customers?

Most people buy H2s for bling, not for utility. GM listens to its customers. Unfortunately, its customers are sending very odd messages.
My mother has an H2. She bought it because she’s short, and the thing makes her feel big. Plus, she’s 65 going on 17. Honestly, it’s a great vehicle for the driver, but she only ever takes it to the gas station. For road trips, the driver is comfortable and content. The front passenger is also comfortable. But the back…
I can’t tell you how much pain my wife and I were in after sitting in the back seat for a few hours while on a road trip. It was horrible. I said to my mom, “When we get back, you get rid of this beast and get something else.” She didn’t, though. She thought about it, but…
Turns out, the dealer will only give her around $28k for it, and she paid $72k just a couple of years ago. She only has about 20,000 miles on it, too. But they aren’t selling right now. Not enough people are looking for H2 bling thanks to gas prices.
As far as capability, I have yet to take this thing off the road. I’m sure it would do fine. However, it won’t pull more than a couple of jet skis, thanks to the fact that the engine is struggling to carry the weight of the vehicle alone. My father’s Hemi Durango pulls his 29 foot boat, and my mother’s H2 pulls only the jet skis. My minivan carries all the people. So I guess it all works out…
Oh, and HowsMyDriving, stop calling my mom a schmuck, you jerk! (chiste)
