Hummer to launch special edition H2 and H3 models in April

02/14/2008, 1:56 PM

By Drew Johnson

General Motors has announced that it is launch two special edition Hummer models: the H2 Silver Ice Limited Edition and the H3 Championship Edition. The H2 Silver Ice Limited Edition is based on the standard H2 model but adds a few luxurious touches.

As the name implies, the Limited Edition H2 is painted Silver Ice — marking the first time the H2 has been offered in a true silver color. The package also includes chrome package, which can be seen on the wheels and other exterior trim pieces. Inside, the H2 Silver Ice Limited Edition comes fully-loaded, including a rear-seat entertainment system. The limited edition can be had in SUT — $65,230 — and SUV — $67,595 — body styles. The H2 Silver Ice Limited Edition will have a production run of 750 units, with 500 of them staying in the U.S.

The H3 Championship Edition is essentially a tribute to the H3 Alpha that won the Baja 1000 last year, and is based on the H3 Alpha. The Championship Edition includes the Alpha’s V8, but also adds 33 inch tires, a grille guard and fender extensions.

The special edition H3 is painted Ultra Silver Metalic, with its shocks and brake calipers painted red.

Prices for the H3 Championship Edition will start at $39,206.

Both special edition Hummers will hit the market in April.

Silver Ice Ice Baby… … … … oh wait wrong song… They should have copied from Vanilla Ice just like VI copied from Queen and David Bowie… lol

Hmm the H2 is expensive enough….

That H3 Alpha however sounds interesting to me. Would make for one good, but expensive off-roader.

GM need to work on Malibu type cars with a lower MSRP to get back into the auto business.

NOT gas pigs with small sales numbers.

SwerveEarly: Hmm…what a blatant miscalculation of social reality, playing off of stereotypes the media has brain washed you to be true.

Realize, son, that 95% of the buyers for these vehicles will be upper class, middle aged whites. Open your mind man, you’re blinded.

Yep… ones who want to believe (in their own micro-penile minds) that they’re some kind gentrified suburban bad-ass thug..

They should’ve put a 6.6L Diesel in the H2 and the new 4.5L Diesel in the H3 if they ever want to meet the new CAFE ratings…

This is an example how corporate pundits are playing with themselves. They really need those “improvements” in a brand which lost 40-60% of sales.

It’s funny to see the suburban kids driving daddy’s car with Rap bumping out the speakers.

They are so ghetto-fabulous.

Dump them into the south-side of atlanta and they will push the on-star button and call for mommy.

Need more oil for GM

My friends, with your help and with the help of our friends at General Motors, we as Americans, most notably those who have stake in our crude oil stocks are able to thrive and prosper in the moments of dispair across the world. It is your duty as Americans to enjoy the fruits of our labor, to sample one of just 12 different full size, truck based SUV’s from GM. For those more endowed, may we suggest Hummer, for those elite individuals who choose more enriched means of living and thriving off this great planet Earth.

Understand this folks, it is not planet Earth that will pay the bills, do your work, provide for your families, make you satisfied, no. It is a resource, a tool in which we use to survive, not a thing of great importance, not a being of high value. Use it, embrace it and ignore those false consequences. This Earth owes us nothing, it is ripe for the taking so enjoy my friends, drink up for the sake of happiness and gluttony.

Please keep us in mind during your journey. We await your business with open arms and you with open wallets.
