Hurst Performance Vehicles – the legendary auto tuner — is planning to send General Motors’ Pontiac brand off with a bang with two-special edition models. Dubbed the 2010 Hurst/Pontiac H.O., the limited edition models will be based on the Pontiac G8 and G6 convertible.
The G8-based 2010 Hurts/Pontiac H.O. will be handmade at Hurst’s Irvine, California facility. Only 52 examples of the “Executive Hot Rod” will be produced, ensuring instant collectability. The Hurst treatment will include a special white and gold or black and gold paint scheme, set off by unique Hurst wheel. Performance of the G8-based sedan will be up to the Hurst name, thanks to a supercharger and an upgraded suspension.
Inside the Hurst/Pontiac H.O. will feature a Hurst shifter and unique interior trim.
Additionally, Hurst will produce six Hurst/Pontiac models based on the G6 convertible. Intended to commemorate “Doc” Watson’s famous pace cars, the limited edition drop tops will be reserved for parade and special event duties.
“Doc started all of this with George back in 1960 with Hurst Performance Research. His Hurst H.O. Pontiacs have stormed drag strips and main streets across the country for 50 years,” said Hurst Chairman, Nate Shelton. “There could not be a better time to honor Doc and the legendary Pontiac marque.”
Pricing and specs for the Hurst/Pontiac offerings will be released on August 1st.
