I've seen it. It is not a hybrid, but an all-electric car which uses a very small (250cc) petrol engine to charge the batteries when needed. The in-wheel motors (they're why the wheels stick out) are driven purely by the battery, which is also charged through regenerative braking. Mitsubishi has built an Evo that uses the same system. PML claims the battery/generator weighs much the same as the engine/gearbox in a standard Mini, so weight shouldn't be a big deal. Whatever you think of it, it's an exciting machine and proves electric cars are moving on very quickly. This car is real. I’ve seen it.
