Actually RaineMan, SVT does still exist, they dont have any SVT badged vehicles currently but the team is still very much alive and their name has been slapped on things like the Ford GT and the Shelby GT500... heard of them?
And boy can i wait to hear all the fart cans that will be going on these things.

Actually that's a good point, it does fall into the 240 category, which rumor has it Nissan is bringing back. Although, if the rods aren't strong enough the aftermarket support is all for not. If you have to upgrade the rods in order to support more boost you're going to have a lot of popped engines.

First off... SVT doesn't exist anymore. Secondly... Hyundai is making a move to try and copy Honda's massive aftermarket support. Third... even priced as it is and looking as it is... this car promises to do very well. Turbo-4 and RWD, it promises to be the next 240. Nissan & Honda better get something in the works fast to fight it... B/c if I was in the market for a tuner coupe right now I'd sure take a RWD one over a FWD one.

Good move, take note SRT, SVT, and SS. This is how you create excitement for the turbo-4 crowd. The aftermarket is already in place by the time the car is in the showroom.

this car's actual release is still quite a ways away? are we sure it's actually going to be marketed with the genesis nameplate? i was under the impression everyone was calling it the genesis coupe simply because it's built on the same platform as the sedan.

Did they invite anyone to fabricate a grille that looks even a little like the one on the sedan? Because the two vehicles couldn't be any less similar. They should have either left this the Tiburon, or dumped the ugly H symbol off the grille and made it a proper Genesis coupe. Or perhaps this is the new Hyundai Genesi Scoupe? :)

Good news, I still think it was a bad idea to badge this as the Genesis coupe. Between price differences and looks, the two couldn't be farther apart.

Hyundai's getting better, but I found the other day still very, very low on quality. The Elantra really looks like a nice car, the interior fit and finish is great, but there's minor things that I couldn't help noticing that show that your buying a Hyundai. Why can't they finish the seat seams with something that will last, or make all the fabrics line up correctly? How about the sucktacular transmission? Mileage is pretty good, but not anything to brag about.

Only products I would consider from Hyundai/Kia: Tiburon, Veracruze and Rondo. Believe it or not, the Rondo is a pretty nice, spacious vehicle. I like the looks of the Elantra and Spectra, but quality isn't set down well.

the genesis coupe starts approx 22/23K and goes up from there. its not a Tiburon replacement. This engine is also the engine Mercedes is buying from Hyundai to use in future 4 cyl cars... FYI.

"Though I had no idea that the turbo-4 was a mitsu engine. "

Not really a Mitsubishi engine. This engine was jointly developed by Chrysler, Mitsubishi, and Hyundai, and they all use it in their vehicles. It's an aluminum block and I don't think it has forged internals, which is why a lot of Evo fans don't like this engine, as it can't handle as much power as the old Mitsubishi Evo engine.

Gale Banks - wow that company has been doing forced induction for a LONG time. They usually only work on Detroit iron, making twin turbo kits for Chevy V-8's, and boosting up diesels. I never thought I'd see them working on a Hyundai.

Well... it's about time a company besides Honda let the aftermarket gurus get their hands on a pre-production car. Though I had no idea that the turbo-4 was a mitsu engine. It should respond nicely to mods.
