In regards to forced induction, the Tau V8 was designed for it from the beginning. In these times where gas prices are unpredictable (right now, they’re low – under $2.00 per gallon for regular in West Palm Beach, Florida), it’s probably not a great idea to have something too thirsty.. However, Hyundai is obviously prepared for whatever BMW or Mercedes throws out there…

Their 5.5L which is suppost to be more than 420hp. I bet YO that then can’t top 0-60 under 5.1 second. I think the Horsepower is just a scam…..

Cool. I hope this works out. 400-420HP from a 5.0L means that they will out do Infiniti’s 390HP 5.0L, and possiblely beat last-gen BMW M5′s 400HP from their 5.0L. Me likes horsepower.

its not the same team that made the excel tho. the hyundai team now has all the top designers from ford, gm, & vw. the team thats responsible for the NEWEST caddy CTS is working for Kia. Peter schreyer thats responsible for the new beetle, audi tt, GTI, a3, a8, a4, & a5 is working for both hyundai & kia & is solely responsible for the soul, koup, knd4, & kee concepts… hyundai & kia have got it together.

I thought the trend in engine development was towards smaller more fuel efficient units? Here someone goes again making an even bigger V8. I doubt we’ll ever see it here.

The Genesis really is impressive. However,I have already seen 0.9% financing on the Genesis V6. Incentivized rates already? It is a crowded car market. And I’m in Houston with the oil boom. Hell, I even saw $12,000 off MSRP of the Audi A8. If you judged by the Olympics commercials you’d think that Audi could set any price it wants.

Man, is this car ambitious… Curious to see if it actually delivers. Imagine what it’d do for the brand.
